The Jones Family Kitchen Review

We’ve heard so many good things about The Jones Family Kitchen in Belgravia’s wellbeing hub, Eccleston Yards, that we thought it was about time we tried their famous premium steaks. The restaurant is a five-minute walk from Victoria station, but hidden away in Eccleston Yards, which means it’s not packed full of tourists (phew!).

We received a nice and warm greeting at the door and was swiftly shown to our seats by the window. For starters I choose the yellowfin Tuna Tartare, which came beautifully presented, diced up, along with avocado, soy, ginger and chilli, which complemented the tuna perfectly, giving it a gentle flavouring.

I was very happy with my choice until I took a bite out of my dining partner’s starter, who chose the Tamworth pork belly and scallops. The pork belly and scallops, were soft and buttery, and the pork belly had a nice crunch to the top part, a perfect dish to start the meal.

For the mains I went for the 25g fillet with new potatoes and sweet potatoes fries (yes you can clearly see I’m a potato fanatic!) I would definitely recommend getting sides with your steak, to fill up the plate. I can delightfully say the steak certainly lived up to its name! Soft, tender and a melt in your mouth experience! It left me wanting more.

I was very surprised to see a vegan option on the dessert menu that wasn’t sorbet. The coconut and lime tart, which was beautifully presented and certainly indulgent but I wasn’t sure I enjoyed the flavour combination. However what stole the show was the sticky toffee pudding with chocolate sorbet. Naughty, satisfyingly sweet and everything in between.

We were throughly impressed with the options on the menu and the service from our waitress, who wasn’t only very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful in her suggestions, but we also found out she was studying photography, so we geeked out on cameras as well, which in my opinion is always the best type of conversation!

If you’re popping in on a Sunday and fancy something more traditional? Fear not they have you covered with a Sunday roasts menu. They also offer a pre-theatre and restaurant party menu, covering all your needs.

Throughout the summer, the yards have been converted into a croquet pitch, so if you want to have a little fun after your meal, book yourselves into a croquet session (£10 per group) which you can book via this email address:  [email protected]
