MakeupDrop™ Review

makeupdrop product and packaging main copy Silicon Makeup Applicators have taken the beauty blogger world by storm. They’re constantly being  used by celebrities such as Natalie Portman and (my favourite maybe because we share a name) Chrissy Teigen. Now the original MakeupDrop™ has been launched in the UK.

This product is a fast selling product as they sell 20 units per 60 seconds (in fact when Makeup Drop was used at the Grammy’s and Swag awards it sold 100K in under 3 days. Pretty impressive we say.

So it’s time to find out all what all the fuss is about. Brushes and makeup blenders do tend to soak up large amounts of makeup during application so MakeupDrop™  was designed to completely eliminate wasted makeup. It is made from a non-toxic and paraben-free silicone, high quality material (tested by SGS). With an unique and ergonomic “Droplet” shaped edges it will reach all hard to reach  areas (including under the eyes), and it’s flawless blending feels unbelievable on the face.  It’s non porous silicone surface won’t soak in your foundation, highlighter or cream blush and you only need to use half the amount of product compared to a traditional sponge or brush applicator.

I wear foundation everyday so I a. go through a lot of foundation and b. have to wash my brushes quiet regularly. It’s always a bit of a hassle as any makeup lover knows. It’s why we always have so many brushes – we just buy new ones instead of washing them.

MakeupDrop™  has changed that as it is quick and easy to wash. It will also not harbour bacteria as other blenders/brushes do – which of course means that you’re less likely to have problematic skin.

Starting with my primer and foundation, I really did find it needed less product. I was surprised with how well it blended as I ended up buying a cheaper alternative from TKMAXX to compare it to.  MakeupDrop™   blended a lot easier than my normal blender or the other silicone makeup blender. It was definitely a lot easier to clean. I prefer to use this for my primer and foundation, then use brushes with my powder. Though if you prefer, MakeupDrop™  can be used with both liquid and powder products.
