Meet the Maker at the Stoke House

'Meet the Makers' Dinner at Stoke House, Victoria

The Stoke House, in Victoria bills itself as modern carvery, with a focus on high quality, seasonal British produce. To celebrate the produce that enables them to create delicious food, this September they will be hosting their “Supplier Series”, where you can meet the makers to get a real feel for what makes their produce so special, before its reaches the Stoke House tables.

The Stoke House’s Head Chef, Pete Denhart, champions his suppliers and what it allows him to create in the kitchen. It certainly works, as part of the supplier series you’ll be able to see how these wonderful ingredients come to life.

The slow roasted lamb belly, smoked for six hours is a testament both to Phillip Warren, the Cornish butcher who bring the lamb fresh from the hills of Cornwall and North Devon. If beef is more your things once again the butchers of Philip Warren provide a wonderful range of short rib and rump cuts to the Stoke House from Galloway and Red Devon herds enjoying the sunshine and grass of the South West. Whatever your meat of choice, it’s brought to life by the Oxford Charcoal Company, whose Charcoals, in this case Oak, Birch and Alder, all come from sustainable sources within 40 miles of their base, and lend a wonderfully delicate smokiness to the meat. You’ll be able to meet them at the BBQ, Butchery and Beer event on 6th September.

For those seeking the opportunity to sample something a little less meaty, there’s an event for you too. The East End fish smokers and curers, the Secret Smokehouse, will be showing off their locally sourced and sustainable salmon. For the evening they will be joined by Mash, specialist grocers, who focus on providing the best, and where possible local, fruit and vegetables.

The final event, will feature Paxton & Whitfield, Her Majesty’s cheesemonger, who will present an elegant cheese board paired with wines for a sumptuous cheese and wine evening! What better way to round things off?

Whichever event you choose you’ll be sampling some of the finest produce available, delicately crafted into delicious meals by the Stoke House team. The Supplier Series events will give you the opportunity to sample carefully curated new dishes, to show the best of their ingredients, championing high quality local produce. You’re sure not to be disappointed, and your expectations of a carvery will certainly be challenged!

Tickets are priced at £35 per person for the Butchery, BBQ and Beer event, this includes bottomless beer and wine.
