Michael Van Clarke Review
Hair salon, Michael Van Clarke, sits proudly on Beaumont street in the uber chic Marylebone. In the festive spirit they have decked out the outside, with multiple sparkling Christmas trees, decorations and a beautiful wreath to welcome every guest that enters. As I spotted the salon across the road, I just knew I was in for a treat.
This salon oozes style and luxury. When I entered I received a warm welcome and was seated shortly afterwards. I was brought tea while I waited for my hair stylist. I met the lovely lady and I explained that I wanted the ends of my hair to be a colder blond, as it had currently looked quite warm and brassy. My hair stylist was attentive and friendly and made me feel at ease, assuring me she could bring the warmness down. I had brought my laptop with me to get some work done, while she worked on my hair.
Throughout the time I sat there, a lady kept coming around offering all the guests mulled wine and fancy mini mince pies. I was told over the Christmas period, the salon treats all their customers to put them in the festive mood. It certainly did the trick, it put smiles on all of our faces, as we tucked into the mice pies and gulped down the mulled wine.
Three hours later, my hair was out of foil and my hair was being washed, using the 3” More Inches hair-care range (Michael Van Clarke’s own range). Which claims to ‘improve the health, strength and beauty of your hair. It works by reinforcing the protein building blocks of every strand, repairing the damage caused by daily life’. Now I must say, after my hair was blow dried, I could feel how soft and silky it felt, and it looked nourished and shiny. They kindly gifted me some of the hair care products to try at home. I have been using it now for two weeks, and I can happily say my hair looks and feels healthier and stronger, with a nice shine to it. I recently used another brand at my gym and instantly felt how dry my hair looked and felt (note to self, bring 3” More Inches to the gym next time). It has no silicone in the hair care range, which I’m very pleased about. More brands should take note. Yes it’s on the pricey side at £19 a bottle, but let me tell you, it’s certainly worth it! You will notice a difference instantly.
After my hair was blow dried, I could see the blond at the ends of my hair were more of a cold tone and not so warm (orange), which made me very happy, as it gave a more natural look to my hair. I felt well looked after and all the staff were incredibly friendly and warm. I’ve found a winning salon, and will be happy to visit again soon, ladies you must try Michael Van Clarke, you won’t be disappointed!
