MONSTER – Free art installation by Giles Walker at Ben Oakley Gallery

If you have been missing the immersive experience of cinema, live music, theatre and art then you’ll enjoy getting lost in the kinetic sculptural installation ‘MONSTER’, from renowned artist Giles Walker. A stark contrast from the usual pre christmas theatrics, this ambitious piece is presented by Ben Oakley Gallery, held at 106 Commercial St. E1 on 3rd December. It follows on from his previous work ‘The Last Supper’ shown at The London Science Museum in 2017 alongside the superb ‘ROBOTS’ exhibition.

Bringing together elements of art choreography and theatre, ‘Monster’ will be a totally immersive three-dimensional experience. Featuring 16 large-scale animatronic figures, 3 of which are 4.5mtrs in height and furniture choreographed into what has been described a ‘something resembling a piece of macabre mechanical theatre’. A raw thought provoking piece that examines the state of our Nation’s collective mental health.

Incorporating dialogue and a soundscape by Paul Hartnell (from the electronic dance duo, Orbital), expect to be drawn into this multilayered, complex and unconventional piece, it’s ambitious and promises to leave an intense lasting impression.
