Afternoon Tea at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge

Afternoon tea has alway been seen as a luxurious treat, freshly made finger sandwiches, beautifully presented cakes accompanied with champagne or tea, what’s not to LOVE!

Bake Off: The Professionals favourites and Park Plaza Hotels’ pastry chefs, Domenico Camporeale and Alessandra Labarile recently created an afternoon menu and experience to showcase their beautiful and unique creations.

The afternoon tea takes place in the executive lounge in the hotel with floor to ceiling windows looking out into the Houses of Parliament. The decor is stylish and minimal, and the staff are very welcoming.

We were presented with the tea menu first, where you can choose from a range of different teas from Drury Teas. We opted for the English breakfast tea, but there are options of herbal teas and coffee also on offer. We were presented with the savoury selection first, which included:
Scottish smoked salmon, marinated in gin with dill cream cheese
Classic cucumber sandwiches with mushroom duxelles
Somerset Brie Quiche with Mediterranean Vegetables and
Old Spot Pork Sausage Rolls with Caramelised Onion Chutney

The Old Spot Pork Sausage Rolls was a firm favourite, fresh, juicy and flavoured beautifully. The sandwiches were delicate and light, a nice introduction before an indulgent mix of sweet treats.

We were amazed by the signature patisseries which came up next. Which I can only describe as miniature pieces of art, they took our breath away, so much so we stared at it for a few moments, soaking in the beauty.

A Lemon Verbena Light Mousse, with Granny Smith Apple
Candied Lemon Fluid Compote and Walnut Sponge
Egg Illusion (Coconut and Lime Mousse with Fresh Exotic Compote and Coconut Dacquoise Exotic Gel).
Espresso martinins and
Scones with jam, cream and homemade caramel sauce

The patisseries were an absolute delight, rich, indulgent, with a nice combinations of flavours that were paired beautifully.

The Afternoon tea is priced at £39 per person, if you prefer a glass of fizz or two you have the option to add Champagne.

Available at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London on weekends between 1 – 5pm until Christmas.
