MOVING VENUE MARKEd 40 YEARS WITH A SPECTACULAR “REBELLIOUS BY NATURE” CELEBRATION AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM IN SEPTEMBER
I had the pleasure of attending Moving Venue’s 40th anniversary celebration on September 10, 2024. The event was held at the iconic Natural History Museum. It was an unforgettable evening that paid homage to Moving Venue’s pioneering spirit and deep commitment to quality and innovation. Sponsored by Lavender Green, Wise, and Sternberg Clarke, the event brought together a distinguished crowd of 250 guests, including venue partners, corporate clients, event agencies, and press.
The chosen theme, “Rebellious by Nature,” couldn’t have been more fitting. From the moment guests stepped into the beautifully reimagined nature garden, it was clear we were in for a one-of-a-kind experience. The theme was woven into every detail of the event, starting with the exquisite floral installations that defied convention and celebrated the untamed beauty of nature. Moving Venue, the first caterer to host an event at the Natural History Museum, returned to its roots with this elegant celebration—a testament to their legacy and influence in the event industry.
Everyone looked fabulous on the evening and I felt like I spent the evening just in awe of everything. The food, the venue, the catering, showmanship… every detail was immaculate.
The culinary experience was nothing short of spectacular. Moving Venue’s chefs crafted a menu that embodied the perfect mix of tradition and bold, innovative flavors. Standouts included the starter of King prawn ceviche with orange caviar, and the main course of tender Cornish lamb with a rich, summery salsa verde. I had the mushroom main course, but every diner on my table throughly enjoyed their lamb! The dessert, playfully dubbed “The Snickers,” offered a decadent finale with peanut cremeux, milk chocolate mousse, and gold salted caramel. Every bite was carefully thought out, and the use of sustainable ingredients truly highlighted Moving Venue’s commitment to the future of food.
Beyond the cuisine, the evening was brimming with entertainment that captured everyone’s attention, from lively performances by West End’s Chicago and Cabaret to an energetic show by Carol Decker, bringing a delightful nostalgia to the event. The exhibition, “40 Years of Moving Venue,” gave guests a glimpse into the company’s legacy, showcasing memorable moments from historic events like the Microsoft Windows launch party and the Channel Tunnel opening.
In all, Moving Venue’s 40th celebration was a masterful blend of elegance, history, and modern flair. It was a night that honored not only the company’s journey but also its commitment to a forward-thinking future. This event set a new standard for anniversary celebrations, leaving every guest inspired and eagerly looking forward to the next chapter of Moving Venue’s story.
Robert Wetherell Head of Events and Catering at the Natural History Museum said, “Moving Venue’s 40th birthday party was a huge celebration, and we feel honoured to host this incredible milestone in the Museum’s famed Hintze Hall, under the watchful eye of Hope, our 25-metre blue whale skeleton.”
We definitely danced the night away under that skeleton. I can’t thank the team enough for inviting me. I can’t wait to see what Moving Venue do for the next 40 years.
