NHOW LONDON REVIEW

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the gorgeous nhow London. The hotel was listed as one of the best UK hotels in 2020 (The Times) and is designed under the theme ‘London Reloaded’ by Project Orang.

What is `London Reloaded’? Well it’s a bold and contemporary celebration of traditional British icons, such London landmarks, the Royal Family and the underground. Punk meets high tech style, while graffiti appears alongside unconventional images of past monarchs.

Arriving at the hotel, I was given a quick tour by the lovely concierge and told a little bit more about the design and what guests can expect when they book the Penthouse Suite. You can hire it for parties which is pretty cool. The doors of the rooms also look like the doors of houses in Notting Hill and are so are pretty.

Entering the Penthouse Suite I was blown away by the funky design and spent a good hour taking videos and photos! I loved all the cute little touches, from the King and Queen robes to the artwork. Everything was just perfect.

Once my friend arrived, she too was amazed by everything but we both agreed that the bathroom was our favourite! I mean who doesn’t love a huge tub and a long soak!

The hotel is situated on City Road, on the fringe of Shoreditch. Nhow London pays homage to both the area’s industrial past and technological future. The eight-floor hotel houses 190 vibrant rooms, a restaurant conceptualised as a reinvention of the British pub, a bar, gym and three meeting rooms called Laboratories. The hotel is also pet friendly which is great if you need to take your furry pal with you.

The hotel also currently has an ongoing partnership with Jealous Gallery introduces guests to new and interesting London artists with their exhibitions throughout the year.

For dinner we ventured down to the in-house restaurant and enjoyed a Cosmopolitan and a Mojito at the bar to start with.

Dinner was probably the only let down of our stay which was unfortunate. For starters I went with the King Prawn Bao (black sesame, grilled lettuce, soy, bean sprouts, spicy prawn mayo) and my friend had theNachos (guacamole, jalapeño, pico de gallo, Montgomery cheddar & mustard fondue, sour cream, coriander cress). Unfortunately the arrived the same time as our mains. My Bao bun was delicious, however the nachos were cold and not the best.

For mains, my friend really enjoyed her burger but my crab linguine was a little bland. The bottle of wine we did drink with dinner was nice and made up for it a little lacklustre meal.

To finish, we both decided to share the Vanilla Soft Serve Ice-Cream Waffle Cone with Maple Bacon as it sounded really interesting. However, what arrived was not ice-cream  but some strange cheesecake mixture and had no bacon. I have seen that they have now changed the menu and now offer a cheesecake soft serve.

We retired to our room and spent a lovely evening finishing our wine and watching tv. Both of us had an absolutely lovely sleep and chose to order breakfast to the room. Now the full English breakfast was spot on! We absolutely loved it and couldn’t have been happier.

Thank-you nhow London, we had a very pleasant stay and have since recommended to many friends and family that this is somewhere we’re they should consider booking.

The Penthouse Suite starts at £574 a night while other rooms start at roughly £200 a night.
