ODEON Luxe & Dine Islington Review.

Looking for something more than the standard movie going experience?  Welcome to ODEON Luxe & Dine.  Situated in N1’s Islington Square (replacing the old post office off Upper Street), this new Odeon boasts 6 screens, each with recliner seats and personal tables. You can enjoy an indulgent and unique cinema experience while enjoying a delicious menu of freshly prepared food and hand-crafted cocktails, fine wines, beers and premium spirits, served directly to your seat.  You also have the option to have food or a few drinks prior to the movie in Oscars bar (which in other cinema complex’s would simply be the cinema foyer area).

In Odeon Luxe and Dine however, it feels as if you are sitting in a  beautiful art deco bar waiting to be seated at your dinner table rather than waiting to take your seat in the cinema.

The food menu boasts gourmet Wagyu Beef, Corn Fed Chicken and Moving Mountains Vegan Burgers along with other options such as:

  • Wildboar hot dog served with skin-on fries
  • Chorizo flatbread pizza – Spanish chorizo, tomato & Monterey Jack cheese
  • Avocado, kale & puy lentil salad
  • Cheese board – Blue Shropshire, Old Amsterdam Dutch, Brie, Wensleydale with Cranberry and Mature Cheddar. Served with grapes, biscuits & red onion chutney

We were able to order our drinks and food in the bar area (with a choice of having the food in the bar or brought to us at our seats during the movie).  Having the food delivered to our seats was the obvious choice. Initially, I was not 100% sold on eating my Wagyu beef burger and sweet potato fries and drinking my Asahi beer during the movie, however I must say it was really no different to eating the usual ‘cinema food’ like popcorn / hotdogs – I simply had a small table on which to place my food!

Feel like more food? Maybe a dessert or another drink? Simply order from the mobile app (I would suggest downloading the app and creating your account before taking your seat).  All you will need is your movie time, seat number and you can have your order delivered directly to you at your seat (with minimal fuss and not really disturbing your movie either).

The super comfy reclining seats, superb screen/sound and small room almost make it feel like an intimate ‘private screening’ experience (the screen we were in has only 30 seats). All in all, an excellent and (different) movie going experience and one that I would wholly recommend experiencing for yourself.

Pricing:  Food is reasonably priced (and the Wagyu Beef Burger and Vegan Burger were delicious).  Movie Tickets are on the more expensive side, however, well worth the price considering the whole experience.

Location: 13 Esther Anne Pl, The Angel, London N1 1TU (easy walking distance from local train/tube stations Angel and Highbury & Islington)
