PANCAKE DAY, THE TABLE WAY: CHEF SPECIALS & £10 PANCAKES

Now that Valentine’s Day is out of the way, it’s time to turn our attention to the real celebration: Pancake Day. If you’re wondering where to go, The Table Café should be top of your list. They’re offering £10 pancakes all day on 17 February, across both their Southwark and Battersea locations.

For Pancake Day 2026, guests can enjoy the full regular menu plus four limited-edition chef’s specials, each inspired by the team’s heritage, travels and childhood food memories. These one-day-only creations include:

  • Uthappam (India) – Fermented rice and lentil Indian pancakes topped with chopped masala and served with a trio of sauces – tomato, coconut and ginger, mint and coriander.
  • Fig & Mascarpone (Italy) – Buttermilk pancakes with truffle honey, mascarpone cream, fig jam and homemade amaretti biscuit crumbs.
  • Chicken Katsu Pancake (Japan) – Two buttermilk pancakes topped with crispy panko-crumbed chicken, classic katsu sauce, sesame seeds and pickled radish.
  • Cottage Cheese & Cherries Baked Pancake (Romania) – Warm oven-baked pancakes filled with creamy cottage cheese, gently poached cherries, warm custard and sour cream.

The regular pancake/waffles menu  includes:

  • Very Berries – Buttermilk pancakes with fresh English strawberries, blueberry compote, summer berries sauce, crème fraîche and maple syrup.
  • Banana & Bacon – Buttermilk pancakes with crispy smoked streaky bacon, caramelised banana and maple syrup.
  • Perfect Pear – Buttermilk pancakes with cinnamon-poached pear, mascarpone cream, homemade shortbread crumb, chocolate sauce and maple syrup.
  • Tiramisu – Buttermilk pancakes layered with mascarpone cream, English strawberries, chocolate and coffee-infused maple syrup.
  • Vegan Pumpkin Pancake – Pumpkin pancake with coconut yoghurt, caramelised banana, forest berries and maple syrup.
  • Long Weekender – Buttermilk pancakes with smashed avocado, two free-range poached eggs, chives and maple syrup, with optional smoked streaky bacon or griddled halloumi.
  • Baron Bigod – Buttermilk pancakes with Baron Bigod cheese, truffle honey, crispy bacon and grape chutney.

With so many options, choosing just one is a challenge. My friend went for the Brunch Club—buttermilk pancakes with smoked streaky bacon, Cumberland sausage, scrambled eggs, chives and maple syrup. It was hearty, generous and scratched that full English itch.

I chose the Finger Lickin’ Chicken: buttermilk waffles topped with fried chicken, a fried egg, blue cheese dressing, pickled red onions, homemade hot sauce, chives and maple syrup. The chicken was crisp without being dry, and the waffles were light and fluffy.

The café has a buzzing atmosphere, but service remained quick and friendly. Portions are generous, and the menu goes far beyond pancakes—there are burgers, salad bowls, toast options, Benedicts, plus fresh juices, smoothies and shakes.

The open kitchen is a lovely touch; watching dishes being assembled only made me want to order more. The coffee was strong and well-made, ideal for a Saturday brunch rush. And at 12:30, the place was packed—proof of why The Table Café has earned its reputation as a reliable brunch spot.

The Table prides itself on sustainable sourcing and simple dishes executed exceptionally well, and the presentation really does reflect that.

Pancake Day bookings are now open for Tuesday 17 February. All pancakes are £10 all day. Battersea is open until 10pm; Southwark until 4pm
