Pre – salon review

Upper street is lined with a variety of bars and restaurants, a favourite street of mines, but what it seems to be lacking is a good selection of beauty salons. So you can imagine my excitement when Pre – opened up on Upper street! A female founded salon, with a stylish and contemporary interior, offering a range of treatments which facials, nails and waxing.

I got myself booked in for a deep dive facial, it had been the second time I had ventured into a salon after lockdown, so you can only imagine how congested and dry my skin was. I walked in and got a warm welcome from the owner, and took a minute or so to marvel at the beautiful decor (it’s very instagrammble) before my beauty therapist arrived.

The facial took place on a comfy leather chair, it was a little different to the usual lie on a massage bed behind a closed door, but I went with it. I laid back and immediately started to unwind. The treatment started off with a skin analysis, I learned very quickly that my skin was crying out for help, my pores were congested and I had a little breakout. We spoke about the condition of my skin and was advised to come back for a steam and extraction, my therapist also gave me some helpful tips to help improve my skin. After my consultation, I laid back while I had a deep cleanse and a lactic acid peel, shortly after, my therapist applied a face mask. Mask off and skin looking and feeling good, my facial was finished off with a lymphatic drainage massage. Probably my most favourite part of the facial where Cryo balls and gua sha were applied to my face, helping to flush away toxins, reduce water retention, smooth fine lines and reduce muscle tension.

I emerged relaxed and very happy, to be honest I didn’t want it to end, I admired my restored and glowing complexion in the mirror! My therapist was amazing, she made me feel comfortable within the first few minutes of sitting down. The facial was relaxing and very much needed…
