Review: Royal China

If there is ever a Chinese restaurant you are looking for, with a menu filled with different Cantonese and regional Chinese dishes to choose from then this is the place for you. There are five branches in London, we dined out in the flagship restaurant in Baker street, just a short walk from Baker street station.

They are known for their dim sum, on this evening we choose from the a la carte menu. We went for one of their most popular dishes: the Crispy Aromatic Duck, which comes as shredded crispy duck, pancakes and plum sauce. The duck was very tender and when mixed with the pancakes and plum sauce was a real delight! One of the best Crispy duck pancakes I’ve tasted in a while. The steamed pork dumpling was very fresh and light, a good recommendation as a starter.

For the mains, we wanted to be adventurous but after seeing our favourites on the menu, it had won us over and we opted for the beef with cashew nuts and special fried rice. The beef was tender and flavoursome and the rice was mixed with different meats and fish, which was very filling and a good choice when paired with the beef and cashew nuts.

Wine lovers you would be impressed with their wine menu, boasting over 100 different wines and tea loves you will be in heaven, after getting a glimpse of their tea menu, showcasing 40 different selections.

We were greeted with a warm welcome when we arrived, the service throughout the night was good and we felt very looked after, the food was delivered in a timely fashion and was delicious. So would we recommend dining out here? you bet your bottom dollar we do.
