Secretsundaze Party
Secret Sundaze is a daytime party specialising in underground electronic music from DJ’s around the world. I attended the gig in Greenwich, London on 24th May, which began at 2pm and continued until 6am the next day. DJs included Martyn, Delano Smith, Jeremy Underground, Florian Kupfer, Mr Beatnick and Nummer and it was helmed by founders and residents Giles Smith & James Priestley. The music was diverse and vanguard and a hotbed for electronic music lovers.
The venue was striking; a bar at the side of a dual carriageway with an enormous gas pylon and the 02 Arena as its backdrop. Inside, the terrace was encased in a hexagon-shaped glass ceiling with the gas pylon visible looming above outside. The terrace was set up in the style of a beach bar and the club inside was spacious and held a second bar inside. There were also food stools and a designated smoking area. Overall a great and unusual space that was perfect for this type of alternative event.
For more details on the organisation and events listings click here. Tickets ranged from £5.00 (for early birds) to £24.50 and tickets are similarly priced at other Sundaze events. Drinks are expensive, though typical for club nights, with bottled beer and cider priced at £4.50 and single mixed drinks costing the same.
