Skinny Tan Express Mousse Launch
Skinny Tan Express Mousse launched last week and I was luckily enough to be invited along to press launch at Farm Girl Café. A vegan café was the perfect venue for a product that is 100% vegan. Skinny Tan is also an Australian product so as an Aussie, I’m always excited to see Australian products do so well on the international market. Formed in in 2012, Skinny Tan is considered as one of the UK’s fast growing tanning brands and even appeared on the UK’s Dragon’s Den.
Upon walking into the café, I was greeted by the Louise, one of the creators of Skinny Tan and her lovely staff. I’m embarrassed to admit how white my legs were when I walked in to the venue but I can tell you now they weren’t white when I walked out of the event. I became the first person outside the company to try the new Skinny Tan Express Mousse. As Skinny Tan is a vegan, cruelty-free brand which combines of a natural tanning active and natural derived skin smoothing actives to tan, contour and reduce the visible appearance of cellulite, I was game enough to be a model for one night only.
The purpose of the Skinny Tan 1 hour Express Mousse is to give those busy working girls or guys a chance to have a flawless tan in just 1 hour. It has an instant bronzer that goes on easily so you and a coconut smell that means you can walk straight out of the door without smelling overpoweringly like fake tan. The mousse can also be left on for over three hours to develop a darker tan. I definitely did this and must admit I left it on overnight because I was super tired when I got home from the launch.
The application was super easy but I must confess I didn’t have to do much work. I luckily just had to stand there and have the product applied to my skin. I could see though that it was easier to apply than the Skinny Tan cream products I had used on a previous occasion. And that’s saying something because the 7 Day Tanner is super easy to apply. I did get to learn some tips to making that tan perfect which will be extremely helpful next time. First apply the tan in downward strokes and apply the tan to your feet last. This is something I definitely always forget so it was a handy tip to take home with me. Also after applying the tan, turn your tanning mitt around and buff with the clean side to ensure no streaks are present.
After the simple process of tanning and being filmed (I don’t think I’ll be making a career as a model anytime soon), I got to enjoy the healthy vegan goodies and a few glasses of champagne. Farm Girl Café put on a delightful spread of vegan BLTs, vegan donuts, Protein Balls, Quinoa Salad and other vegan goodies.
Over the next few hours, as my tan developed I received a number of compliments from other guests at the launch about how my legs looked. I was also complimented on how nice I smelt. Though this had nothing to do with my perfume choice of the evening, but the delicious coconut smell of the Skinny Tan Express Mousse. The compliments didn’t stop the next couple of days as I bravely took my newly bronzed legs to work in pretty dresses. I did find despite washing off the tan in the morning, my legs just appeared to keep getting darker throughout the course of the day. They still looked natural and not orange so I wasn’t overly concerned. (This picture is day two).
It’s been a week now since the launch and while my legs have faded slightly, they are still a nice brown colour. I must admit though I haven’t taken good care of the tan like I should have by moisturising daily and following Skinny Tan’s other helpful tips on their website. This is a product I’d definitely use again, which was handy because Skinny Tan generously gave a gift bag to each guest at the launch. Skinny Tan Express Mousse retails at £27.99 and can be purchased from www.superdrug.com and at Superdrug stores nationwide. Other stockists include https://wwww.lookfantastic.com, http://www.feelunique.com and www.skinnytan.co.uk.
