Spend Valentine’s Day At Ayllu
Last month, a friend and I ventured down Ayllu for lunch. Having previously sampled the bottomless brunch we knew we’d be in for a treat.
The decor and splendour of Ayllu always leaves me with the feeling I’ve discovered a hidden bar right in the heart of Paddington. If you’re having pre drinks in the pub upstairs before hand, downstairs at Ayllu feels miles away.
I arrived early so enjoyed the gorgous fruity Flamingo cocktail while waiting for my guest. Once she arrived we dug straight into our meal. To be honest we tried nearly everything on the menu.
Top favourites were the Beef Croquettes, the Mixto, Salmon Tacos, Beef Bao Buns and the Iberico Pluma. Each of these dishes were incredible moorish and fresh! The Iberico Plump was the standout dish of the day and is one we’re going to go back to Ayllu for.
There were some disappointments to the menu however with the Chef’s Selection of Nigiri. It was dry and wasn’t up to the usual standard I’ve experienced at Ayllu before. Despite this, the Miso Cod more than made up that as did the service of our lovely waiter.
The service was impeccable and we couldn’t fault it. It always makes a difference when you’re treated just like family at a restaurant and watching wait staff treat everyone the same is always a huge plus in my books.
Currently there’s been some incredible price changes on their tasting menus with their tasting menus starting at now only £39 per person, allowing you to explore a variety of delectable flavours without the hefty price tag. And with Valentine’s Day just around the corner why not fill the evening with romance and splendour at Ayllu.
