St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London Review
St. Pancras Renaissance Hotelis celebrating its 10th anniversary with a series of special experiences to mark ten years of welcoming travellers, diners, cocktail drinkers, afternoon tea tasters, spa goers – and Spice Girls – through its doors.
I never knew this, before staying but the hotel re-opened as a hotel in May 2011. Pretty surprising for me given the history and grandeur of this gorgeous building. To celebrate they are allowing guests to stay 10 Until 10 – Stay, Play & Enjoy Being Away!
The 10 till 10 stay package allows guests to check in at 10am and late check out at 10pm the following day. This was awesome as it meant we could make the most of the hotel and have an indulgent staycation!
Upon arrival for our stay we were treated to an awesome champagne brunch in The Hansom. The food here was lovely! We went for the Burrata, the grilled Sea Bass, the chicken and the famous Truffle Fries. Served with delicious Champagne, it was the perfect start to our extravagant weekend.
While tours aren’t currently running, we were treated to a mini one by the staff who entertained us with the history of the Hotel. We learnt so much and staff are always happy to share information about the hotel, so don’t hesitate to ask them.
After Brunch, we chilled out in our gorgeous room in the Chambers Suite before heading down to the spa.
The Victorian-inspired St. Pancras Spa, is an oasis and it is is amazing that it is hidden below the hotel. It was very Covid safe with bookings being limited downstairs so it was extremely quiet and relaxing. It was great that because of the 10pm checkout the next day, we were able to make the most of the pool, steam room and saunas two days in a row too.
Guests who boom the package will also enjoy a complimentary cocktail each from the hotel’s new 10th anniversary cocktail menu as well as a surprise welcome amenity. I won’t ruin the surprise but it was gorgeous and I smile whenever I look at them since I’ve returned home.
The new cocktail menu is divided into two, the first section pays homage to the hotel’s iconic heritage, introducing signature cocktails including:
- Zig-A-Zig-Ah: Re-spice this season. A cocktail created in honour of the hotel’s signature staircase and backdrop to the Spice Girls’ Wannabe music video, which celebrate its 25th anniversary of release this year..
- Potio Fumum Magica: A spellbinding homage to the much-loved mythical series and hotel’s connection to King’s Cross platform 9 ¾ – the gateway to the wonderful world of wizardry.
While international travel is still a while away, the second section of the menu allows gusts to experience a taste of a destination without stepping foot on a plane or train, through a selection of travel-inspired cocktails. Each cocktail draws inspiration from a unique destination which features another Renaissance Hotel:
- Discover New York Times Square: Where New York meets the UK, enjoy an Anglo-American Old Fashioned. A contemporary twist on a classic, this cocktail blends award-winning bourbon and British whisky.
- Discover Paris: Inspired by the hotel’s travel connections with the Eurostar route to Paris, this Champagne cocktail has all the flavour and flair of a true Parisienne.
We had the Discover Paris and the
A nod to The Hansom’s heritage as the original Hansom Cab drop-off for King’s Cross Station passengers in the 1800s.They were delicious and we’re definitely headed back to try some of the other cocktails on the menu.
We can’t thank the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel for having us say. We left feeling incredibly relaxed and recharged for the week.
It was no wonder… the bed in our room extremely comfortable and we really didn’t want to leave here. We slept like babies overnight and had a delicious breakfast the next morning.
