A day in the life of… Elle

Keepitsimpelle.com

My name is Danielle Linton but most people these days know me as Elle. Im a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and blogger at www.keepitsimpElle.com. This all makes for very varied weeks – no two days are the same! I plan and schedule within an inch of my life to make everything work! This is because I also work part time for a yoga and sports apparel brand.

What does one day in the life of Elle look like?! Here goes

Friday 30th May 2014

07:00 My blog post for the day is pre written and scheduled to go live early in the morning! Makes for good reading while everyone is on the tube / bus to work or you can bookmark it to read later!

07:00 Wake up call!

08:00 This month I decided I wanted to try out Crossfit. In order to actually attend the classes however, you have to complete the foundation classes covering all the basic techniques required in the workouts. I booked in for 1.3 this morning covering deadlift, sumo deadlift high pull and box jumps! I cycled over to the box in Vauxhall to save me time and allow me to sleep in as late as possible.

09:00 After finishing Crossfit, I cycled to Covent Garden to start my shift. I had 40 minutes to relax first and have some breakfast (which I didnt have before class as it was too soon before working out and too early!). The granola is homemade so I know exactly what does and doesnt go into it. I use a lot of recipes from the Honestly Healthy book which is all about eating alkaline. I also eat diary free as I am lactose intolerant.

10:00 – 15:00 On the shop floor with no phone, I feel *slightly* cut off from the world! But its actually a good thing sometimes! I work with an amazing group of people who make every shift fun so it barely feels like work sometimes!

15:00 I pop onto the computer to pimp my blog post for the day! I share it on Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and LinkedIn. I also reply to some of the emails I have received during the day.

16:30 On my way to Boots to pick up a few bits for my weekend, I spot that Stylist Magazine have a pop up coffee shop on Floral Street giving away free coffee and samples! I grab a cuppa, have a little sit down then carry on with my shopping duties! Im staying in Central London for the weekend so need to pick up some essentials such as shampoo, deodorant and face wash.

17:30 I jump on the tube and head to Aldgate East.

18:00 I arrive at Aldgate East and make my way to the Marlin Apartments – my home for the weekend. Over the past few months, I have been working with a group of bloggers to come up with the ultimate hen weekend for active women! We had a brainstorming session a couple months ago and this weekend was the culmination of our ideas! We were now trialling the first draft of this hen weekend in London!

18:30 Showered and ready to get the evening in full swing! We don our custom made onsies with our names / blog names on so there will be no confusion!

19:00 Our Chef arrives at our apartment. Tonight we are learning to make sushi! This is something I have never done before and was so excited! I learnt a lot and our hard work culminated in the freshest, tastiest sushi I have ever had!

21:30 Post sushi, we enjoy a drink or two in the comfort of our apartment while talking all things active, blogging, TV, weekend and life!

23:00 Time for bed! I have to sneak away in the morning to teach at Victoria Park after our yoga session in the apartment!
