STEREO COCONUT COVE’ With LAKI KANE & Planteray Rum
Fed up with the so-called summer we are having? Prefer to be somewhere tropical? Would you believe it if I told you, you could find this in the heart of London? No? Well you can!
STEREO in Covent Garden launches their ‘Coconut Cove’ this July where you will be transported to a tropical paradise. Think palm trees, bright flowers and lush greenery. And it doesn’t stop there! How about some amazing cocktails to really bring that holiday vibe. The iconic Laki Kane (Islington) have partnered with STEREO to bring their uniquely created cocktails to this oasis. Rum based cocktails are my favourite, so when I heard this collaboration was with the award winning Planteray rum, one of the tastiest rums in the world, I was even more excited to spend an evening here.
STEREO COCONUT COVE
COCKTAIL MENU
LAKI KANE £14
The Signature cocktail represents the essence of Laki Kane; a punchy dose of light white rum comes to life with a touch of exotic ingredients. Planteray 3 stars rum shaken with capuacu and sapodilla mix, coconut water, sugar cane juice, lime and passion fruit.
PLANTERAY COLADA £14.50
A time honoured classic, with a refreshing spin where pineapple foam and caramelised coconut sugar are a welcome embrace from faraway lands.
FATAL ATTRACTION £14.50
Follow the aromatic Acerola cherry, where the sweet embrace of peach & lychee are followed by the bite of white rum.
PIN UP ZOMBIE £16.50
Flaming Zombie is a real knockout, after the flames fade, this stunner is filled to the brim with rum and exotic syrups, with flavours to die for.
OCTOBOWL £75
Serves 4
The monster of the deep rises, bringing aged, overproof and spiced rums together. A portion to share amongst friends the sharer includes Planteray Fiji & OFTD rums, mixed with Canerock Spiced Rum, Mandarine Napoleon and caramel tea, yuzu, lime and orange.
These cocktails are definitely ones for the ‘gram. They are each served in a different tiki style glass and garnished beautifully with fruit or flower petals. Every cocktail was expertly made and so flavoursome, it’s dangerous as you just want another! My favourites were the Laki Kane and Pin up Zombie. I love a fruity cocktail so the Laki Kane was perfect, and I couldn’t resist a nibble of the sugar cane garnish. You can’t go wrong with a zombie, a classic, notoriously powerful drink!
STEREO is known for it’s eclectic music line up. The venue will be showcasing world famous DJs such Roger Sanchez & The Shapeshifters in July. I was lucky to experience a live band playing old school R’n’B whilst I was there which couldn’t have been more up my street! I even had a little dance.
Perfect for a catch up with friends or even a cheeky little date night STEREO’s Cocount Cove is not one to miss this summer.
