Stylish living in the Ferrum Tipi building

All inclusive “plug and play” style flexible office spaces have been around for a while now and are steadily growing in popularity. Work life has changed to enable businesses to move in almost instantly to a pre fitted out office space on flexible short-term contracts. The spaces are high spec and come with tonnes of all inclusive perks such as pet friendly spaces, free beer on tap and organised events for tenants. All of which is designed to make employees feel comfortable in their workplace.

If this model works for employees, why isn’t there anything like this for home-seekers you may ask? Well there is and Tipi, based in Wembley Park is leading the way!

Tipi offers a range of high spec, beautifully designed apartments around the buzzing Wembley Park area. Home seekers can pack their belongings and move into a fully decked out living space with contracts from as short as 3 months. For those who resent the huge deposits many London rentals require up front, you can move into a Tipi space with ZERO DEPOSIT.

Included in the monthly price, residents get bills included, broadband, an on site gym, a roof terrace, outdoor communal areas, community events, bike storage and parking, in fact the only extra thing you really need to think about is council tax. The apartments can come non-furnished or for an extra £100 a month you can get your whole apartment fully furnished.

On In London jumped at the chance to spend a night in one of their apartments to see what all the fuss was about, and we weren’t disappointed. Each block of apartments has its own personality and design, to our joy we were placed in the Ferrum building, a New York loft style development with scatterings of industrial features such as copper piping and exposed brick.

We were greeted on arrival by the warmest concierge, something Tipi pride themselves on. The concierge are on hand 24hrs a day and each apartment has direct access to them via a digital intercom screen for support on any flat or building related problems.

We were greeted by the lovely Maria from the Tipi team who took us straight to the apartment to drop our bags off, before commencing the full tour and introduction to the building, something every Tipi resident will experience, I hadn’t ever experienced such joy being shown around a building in London before!

The apartment itself was dreamy, a three bed on the 10th floor, offering a wrap around balcony and incredible views into London. The fit out was stunning and we learnt, the apartments are co-designed with John Lewis and Samsung! We were dying to kick back and enjoy the space but first, we had a lot of building perks to learn about.

Tipi is not just a living space, they are trying to build a community, which is clear through the many shared spaces in the building. There is a large shared resident’s lounge, complete with sumptuous mustard yellow booths, sofas, and a large flat screen with free sky TV. The space also includes a co-working space, benches with wireless charging pads, plug sockets and USB charging points. Many of the residents use this as a space to work from home and as the whole building is equipped with free Wifi, plus it looks pretty damn sexy!

On the same floor, a kitchen / board room style area allows residents to work free of charge, or hire out for private use for only £20 for 4 hrs. This connects to another living room and TV complete with Sky included, which can also be used ad-hoc for free or booked out for private use. These spaces are used by residents for watching the big games, having quiz nights and was even booked out for Christmas dinner for one resident and their family (now thats a Christmas I would have liked an invite for) There is an onsite gym, so no excuse for not getting fit, equipped with a climbing area, weights and exercise machines.

One of our favourite features of the building was the outdoor spaces. The ground floor has gardens complete with charcoal BBQs, and benches. Areas can be used free of charge or rented out for 4 hrs at a time, if you intend to bring up to 10 guests, a great space for gatherings and parties. Dog walkers can make use of the dog run, an enclosed space for our 4 legged friends to do their business on carefully placed fire hydrants (did we mention this place is pet friendly…)

The pièce de rèsistance is the roof terrace offering 360 views over London, BBQ stations, private areas for parties and sun loungers (you guessed it all free to rock up and use or bookable). Regular yoga classes are available up here free of charge for residents during the warmer months.

Overwhelmed by all this place had to offer and tired from our shopping trip to the London Designer Outlet, we settled into our beautiful apartment for a glass (or 2) of vino, we watched the London skyline light up from our balcony and eventually sunk into our beautiful velvety John Lewis sofa for a film night.

For people wanting a high spec, gorgeously designed, all-inclusive apartment with A LOT of extras thrown in, a community feel and just…well a really cool space. Tipi could well be for you.

Wembley Park has had a lot of investment in the last five years, providing residents with places to visit and bars and restaurants to dine in. If you are a fan of shopping, you have the London Designer Outlet on your doorstep (just a two minute walk from The Ferrum building, with a good selection of clothes, shoes and homeware shops. Boxpark is also nearby which has a great range of culinary delights to choose from. They also host regular events, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
