Summer season at Skylight Tobacco Dock

It may not be 21 June yet, but it’s officially summer in East London: Skylight rooftop bar is open for the new season and ready to welcome you and all your friends or coworkers for a laid-back evening or a pre-booked party. We were invited to check it out on opening day and of course it was raining, but Skylight has got it all covered — literally. Most of the areas over the three stories have shelter of one sort or other, so you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail or cheeky Moët without worrying about it getting watered down. This is an English summer, after all.

For the opening, we enjoyed some tasty miniature dishes including burgers, sweet potato fries and chocolate mousse, but on any given night you can get your fix at Skylight’s street food area, with your pick of burgers from Flip Side or modern Greek food from Yiro (yes please, bring on all the halloumi gyros). As for entertainment, you can book a game of croquet, pétanque or table tennis, for a dose of healthy competition. After that, dance the night away to a selection of DJs, all with one of the coolest views over the city you could imagine.
