SurFin Poke Review
In the summer months, I always struggle to know what to eat for lunches or to take along for chilled long evenings in the park but now, I’ll look no further than SurFin Poke.
SurFin Poke is nestled away on Golders Green road and serves a great selection of poke bowls and pokerittos (think a burrito made with sushi rice and fillings). All the poke spots I’ve previously tried in central London are really expensive, but this one was reasonably priced and all of the ingredients were super fresh and good quality.
They have a selection of pre-made poke bowls and pokerritos, so we ordered two pokerritos: a Cowboy (spicy tuna with avocado, sweet potato, cabbage, nuts and a hint of spice) and a Salmon Samba (salmon, avocado, greens, mango and sesame seeds). I’d only ever had a similar pokeritto once before, but thought these were packed full of flavour and were really filling and tasty.
Then to the poke bowls – they have a series of signature bowls and the build your own come in two sizes and even the small was a really generous portion! The small portion was so big I even had leftovers the next day! I decided to build my own with salmon, tuna, mango, edamame and avocado, but will definitely be going back to try some of their signature bowls soon.
On top of the main offerings, they also have party sized platters, which would be great to host a group of friends to build their own pokes. They also have a series of nibbles like matcha popcorn, tuna tartare and salmon ceviche with house chips, which are top of my list to try on my next visit!
As well as a small restaurant, they also take online orders and I think it’s going to be my go-to takeaway this summer!
