THE BLUES KITCHEN ANNOUNCE ALL STAR LINE UP FOR THE BIG SMOKE 2017 RIB FESTIVAL

The Blues Kitchen have a real treat in-store for all BBQ lovers, launching this month is the The Big Smoke – a festival dedicated entirely to ribs.

The Blues Kitchen Brixton is bringing in 2 specially installed custom-built propane tank 108-inch smokers, making the restaurant and bar on Acre Lane bigger, better and smokier than ever. This  BBQ lovers heaven will have smokin’, juicy, fire pit serving ribs from some of the world’s most celebrated pitmasters, cooking up to 300 portions of ribs per night.

The action starts next week when from Tuesday 25th to Thursday 27th April, award-winning chefs Neil Rankin, Wayne Mueller and DJ BBQ, from the UK and US BBQ scene, will descend upon The Blues Kitchen Brixton taking it in turns to serve up their own signature ribs.

To complete the rib smoking BBQ atmosphere an extensive selection of over 100 rare and vintage Bourbons will be available to pair with each meat alongside a wide range of cocktails and local craft ales, all to be enjoyed while The Big Smoke offers up world-class blues, roots and soul artists playing live every night.

Neil Rankin
Tuesday 25th April
Lighting the way is the legendary Neil Rankin, who will be at the helm for a feast of all things meaty. Former Pitt Co and Smokehouse chef has recently been riding high on the success of his newly opened BBQ joint Temper, and will be bringing his expertise to the smokers of Brixton.

Wayne Mueller
Wednesday 26th April
Flying in from the states, Wayne Mueller, owner of the Texan “cathedral of smoke” Louie Mueller Barbecue, will be the second guest take-over the smoker. A third-generation pit-master, Mueller has become a Barbecue missionary, smoking ribs across the US, Japan and Europe, whilst running his Grandfather’s Texas Barbecue house.

DJ BBQ
Thursday 27th April
From one BBQ legend to another, DJ BBQ is returning for another year of racks, stacks and ribs. The man behind The Blues Kitchen’s custom Rib Fest smoker will be cooking up a meat stack storm to the backing music of folk-infused blues.

Each smoky stack of ribs will be priced at £15, running alongside The Blues Kitchen’s southern sides & appetizers menu. Guests can get a piece of the action by booking a table from 4pm until 10.30pm, Tuesday to Thursday, whilst customized ribs will also be served street food style at the bar every night for walk ins.
