Ceres Chill… The Game Changer Every Breast Feeding Mum Needs!

As a mum to 10 months twins I’ve spent countless hours pumping, travelling and trying to make feeding work away from home. And I just want to say… where was Ceres Chill when I first started my breastfeeding/pumping journey!! I can honestly say the Ceres Chill Chiller has been one of those products that genuinely has made my life easier and it’s been a real game changer. .

I first saw the product on social media and the brand kindly gifted me a Chiller bottle and one of their cute glass bottles to review. I honestly can’t thank them enough.

To really test the product out I took the chiller with me to BST Hyde Park Festival on a 30 degree day and it was absolutely invaluable. Now this was my fourth BST Festival this year and let’s just say previously my ice packs melted and even though my breast milk felt cool when I got home, I was worried about it. Spending a full day at a festival brings a whole heap of worrying about how to safely store expressed milk but the Ceres Chill took that stress away completely. It was easy to carry, didn’t take up much space in my pram and kept my milk perfectly cold throughout the festival. I mean the inner tube was still mostly frozen 12 hours after I took it out of the freezer. I was staying in at a hotel that night so knew I may not have access to a fridge so was pretty impressed when the next morning a further nine hours later, while the ice had melted the water inside the inner chamber was still freezing cold and my milk safely chilled! I emptied out the inner chamber and refilled it with fresh ice from the hotel which meant I was able to keep my milk cold for a further six hours until I was able to get home. Knowing the Ceres Chill can keep breast milk cold for up to 24 hours really did give me complete peace of mind. Seriously I repeat again! How did I not know about this when I first started expressing. Earlier this year I even went on holiday to Australia and this would have would have kept my milk cold the entire flight!

Design wise, it is incredibly well thought out and while my Brest pumps don’t allow me to do so, breast feeding mums can pump directly into the chiller, safely store breast milk for hours without needing to find a fridge, and then transport your stash home safely. You can even feed your baby directly from the lid or inner tube for even more ease!

One of my favourite features though is the flexibility of the cooling system. As mentioned above, you can either fill the inner chamber with ice cubes before you head out or freeze the inner tube as one solid ice pack. It’s such a simple idea, but it makes a huge difference because I rarely have ice cubes in my freezer.

What really surprised me is that it’s not just for keeping milk cold… it can warm bottles too. Before leaving for the day, you can simply fill the outer chamber with hot tap water. When it’s time for a feed, pour your chilled breast milk or prepared formula into the empty inner chamber… screw everything back together and within around 7 to 10 minutes you’ll have a perfectly warmed bottle. It can even warm up to three bottles over a 10 hour period. This really does make it incredibly useful when you’re out for the whole day and don’t have access to a bottle warmer. Now my twins are too impatient these days and prefer cold milk so I tested it on cows milk for myself to see how it fares and it really does work.

The quality is excellent too. Everything feels durable and it’s so easy to clean! It’s also built to last. The design is really chic and it’s clear that this was designed by someone who truly understands the challenges pumping parents face every day.

Speaking of… Lisa Myers, is the Inventor of Ceres Chill. Ceres Chill was created by Lisa after she experienced how difficult it was to continue breastfeeding while returning to work as a lawyer. She was determined to successfully breastfeed her son but she struggled to find a safe, discreet and practical way to store expressed milk in a male dominated office and whilst travelling for work. As she was frustrated by the lack of suitable options, she invented the Ceres Chill to be a versatile breast milk storage solution designed to make pumping easier for working parents. Today, Lisa and her team are dedicated to supporting breastfeeding families around the world by creating innovative products and breaking down barriers for pumping mums.

She states “I’m often asked why I created this company. I was actually pretty angry that moms were given no option except big, unreliable coolers. This lack of safe breastmilk storage was part of a bigger system that failed to support women trying to be mothers AND return to their lives out in the world.  So I decided I would make this Chiller happenfor all women — first responders, postal workers, soldiers, doctors, nurses, realtors, caterers, teachers, exclusive pumpers — all of them.

I’m so proud to be working in support of hero moms and families everywhere, bringing science to the table. I’m here to support you on your unique journey!”

So this truly is a product designed for mums by mums! I love it as in September I’ll be a returning to work and continuing to breast feed and pumping at work is a worry for me, especially as some of the offices I work in don’t have a fridge and I’m often having to travel across London with no access to one at all. This product is really bringing me peace of mind.

The website says that the Ceres Chill is is travel safe and remember how I said it’s built to last… well once your breastfeeding journey is over, it transitions into a premium insulated bottle for everyday use. This is great because it means it’s not just another baby product that gets packed away after a few months, it feels like a worthwhile long term investment. It’s going on top of my baby gift giving ideas for some of my new mum friends who will be giving birth this year. Especially as there’s a wide range of colours to choose from!

For anyone who pumps at work, travels frequently, exclusively expresses or simply wants more freedom without worrying about finding a fridge or carrying bulky cooler bags that don’t work, Ceres Chill should become your go to! It’s one of those rare parenting products that delivers exactly what it promises and makes life just that little bit easier. It definitely has for me as a twin mum.
