The world’s longest running rum festival, RumFest, returns for its 18th year, inviting visitors to embark on a rum journey with some of the biggest names and exciting newcomers in the industry. Last year, over 3000 visitors descended to see the master blenders, distillers, ambassadors and industry aficionados and this year promises to be its best yet featuring brand new cheese and rum masterclass.
Taking place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October, RumFest’s consumer show will welcome rum bars, brands, mixologists and master blenders, all of which will be presenting a series of workshops, seminars, tastings, demonstrations and competitions over the two days. The festival will feature over 400 of the most diverse rums from across the globe, alongside live music and dancing during “Carnival Hour”. With RumFest taking place during Black History Month, the festival will also shine light on black-owned rum owners and brands.
RumFest will take over the ILEC Conference Centre for an extensive showcase of all things rum. There will be brand-led seminars and masterclasses from Equiano, V Rum, Angostura Rum, Foursquare Distillery, , Ron Diplomatico, Trois Rivieres, Appleton Estate Rum, St Nicholas Abbey, J Bally, Saint James, Old Monk Rum, Black Tot Rum, Mount Gay Rum, Precious Liquors and many others, alongside food caterers Carib Lager & Heart & Soul Caribbean with their famous Rotis.
Consumers can expect to enjoy tastings with special rum samples that have a combined value of £1500 or a masterclass by Equiano Rum. Those looking to participate in discussions about rum should attend a seminar with Madeira Rum or the IWSC main stage discussion with Ian Burrell and Richard Seale.
The RumFest Trade Show & Conference, in partnership with Class magazine, is taking place on Monday 14th October and will see new and boutique rum brands showcasing their products to industry professionals, buyers and key decision makers from influential retailers. The RumFest Trade Show & Conference is the UK’s premier event providing a platform for emerging, independent and boutique rum brands for well over a decade.
RumFest is more than just the three days, as London Rum Week is also back with events taking place all week celebrating the spirit of rum within some of the capital’s best Rum Bars and venues.
RumFest Founder & Global Rum Ambassador, Ian Burrell, said:
“We are delighted that RumFest is returning for its 18th year. The rum category has evolved significantly over this time and continues to see incredible growth in the UK. Since 2007, we have been educating consumers and the industry with our annual celebration and this year we are proud to be showcasing over 400 diverse rums at RumFest.”
