Tredwells: Review

Tredwell's Grey Goose summer terrace

As much as I love central London, it’s sometimes hard to find a quiet space for after work drinks right in the heart of the city. So imagine my surprise when Tuesday night, I was fortunate enough to be invited to Tredwell’s new summer terrace and find it is just around the corner of the busy Leicester Square. Adorned with blue and white striped parasols, fruit trees and nautical inspired décor, the venue is a far cry from the busy streets of London. It was extremely relaxing chatting to my friend while watching London pass us by.

Tredwell’s new summer terrace is sponsored by Grey Goose and the iconic goose label is everywhere. It’s extremely charming and I definitely want to purchase one of their blankets they have on the back of every chair for when those summer days turn a bit cooler. Thankfully we didn’t need the blankets on Tuesday night and we were able to enjoy our Grey Goose ‘Le Grand Fizz’ (£11) and Le Grand Fizz Orange & Tarragon (£13.50) cocktails while the sun went down. Both cocktails are classic summer drinks and absolutely went down a treat. Probably a little bit more on the pricey side for a cocktail but considering we were in central London, pretty standard pricing.

Tredwell's Grey Goose Fizz selection

The head chef provided us with some bar snacks to complement our cocktails and we happily enjoyed thrice cooked chips with hollandaise sauce, buttermilk chicken with aioli and the mashed potato and gruyere croquettes. The croquettes are seriously food of the Gods and were heaven on earth. Definitely make sure you order these when you visit Tredwell’s summer terrace, you won’t regret it.

After enjoying some of Tredwell’s regular Bespoke cocktails (the Rhubarb and Ginger Margarita and the Strawberry and Thyme Bellini), we were treated to Tredwell’s signature cocktail ‘Down the Apples and Pears’. This cocktail was definitely our favourite of the evening as none of the flavours were overpowering and it was like a different drink with each sip.

Make sure you head to Tredwell’s to check out the summer terrace, especially if you’re looking to get away from Central London without venturing too far or want a nice quiet place for cocktails before seeing a theatre show. Staff were amazing and super friendly throughout our time there and they recommended coming back to visit their Michelin recommended restaurant for dinner Word on the street with is that their Roasted monkfish, squid, chorizo, sweetcorn dish is the one to try.
