Tunes On The Thames Review
London, it’s time to turn up the volume! Cruising on the Thames just got really funky! This May City Cruises will launch its first-ever calendar of music events starting on the River Thames in London. The programme, Tunes on the Thames, will see music-lovers dance, sing, relax and enjoy their favourite DJs and acts. The line up will include the likes Will Manning, Toby Anstis, Artful Dodger and much more. The events range from Silent Disco nights to Hip Hop Karaoke, 80s vs 90s and an exquisite Champagne Sunday Brunch. The eclectic playlist on offer will appeal to all Londoners’ and their varying music tastes. All the events will take place on City Cruises’ newest boat, Erasmus, and having experienced it first hand myself, it is undoubtedly a fine vessel. When I embarked my musical voyage I was extremely impressed by the luxury but also multi faceted design of the boat. The SS Erasmus (my nickname for it) not only has a chic trendy look that offers the ideal socialising space to dine or enjoy a drink or three. There is also a purpose built dance floor with excellent sound, where your body can’t help but give into the rhythm. If that wasn’t enough you can head up to the top deck and take in the iconic sights of London as you sail along the Thames.
I’ve had the privilege of experiencing ‘Lord of the Mic’ UK Rap show case, Where London’s finest MC’s go head to head in a battle for lyrical supremacy. There was already a sense of excitement and anticipation due to the great ambience provided by the DJ and the friendly social environment of the boat. Needless to say that when the verbal jousters graced the stage, the atmosphere in the room pre, during and post the performance was electric with each artist interacting with the crowd and drawing from our energy. The talent on display, the good natured banter and just sheer fun of this experience, almost made me want grab a microphone! Thankfully I came to my senses in time, but then again Hip Hop Karaoke might just see the musical debut of MC ‘Phillips”. Putting aside my delirious lofty musical ambitions, I cannot recommend this highly enough, the cruise works on so many levels. Its just immense fun and I would urge you to choose one of the following events below. You wont regret it, well unless you see me doing Karaoke!

Champagne Sunday Brunch
Ibiza-style chillout sessions come to the Thames with DJs such as Artful Dodger and Wideboys entertaining guests as they dine on City Cruises’ first Champagne Sunday Brunch. There’s no better way to start a Sunday than by tucking into a hearty brunch while diners sail down the river for magnificent views of the Thames. Diners will be greeted with a glass of Moët champagne before eating as much or as little as they like from the buffet, and the bar will be open for orders of additional champagne, wine, cocktails, beer and soft drinks. The three-hour cruise departs Tower Pier at 11.00 am and 2.30 pm on selected dates commencing 9th June 2019 and is priced from £49.00 per person.
