LOVENpresents Pizza Dough Days

 Sunday’s are for mooching, and there is nothing better than having loose plans that give you something to do in no rush at all.

But like my housemate said, working in the week can get you in a routine rut. When you become familiar, and if you totally chill at the weekends you can easily forget you live in one of the most amazing cites in the world.

So after a morning exploring Open House London we decided to head east to the river for the Loven warehouse pizza pop-up.

Beautifully situated on the rivers edge, founders Kate and Fabrizio have erected a roofed terrace in their garden, beautifully decorated with Italian goodies and quirky art. Quirky is the name of the game, just up from the rive you enter the yard up some little black steps just situated between 2 timber cranes?

We entered and parked our bottoms on one of the long communal tables, right in front of the fiery pizza oven. While kate swept around delivering goodies, we perused the menu.

A number of pizzas have been teamed with a set pasta starter and sorbet dessert, so you feel a little bit posh!

The tricoloured pasta was married with mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and olives. Clean, simple and refreshing.

The pizza was ace. Really thin base, but with a bit of a doughy crust to soak up all the juices! We had the spicy salami ‘Diavio’ and the creamy pesto ‘giovello’ which was actually perf as they were total opposites! A picture tells a thousand words……

The meaty one was our fave! And it was cool to see Fabrizio cooking as we chomped, doing his pizza-y thang! It was lovely to see families with kiddywinks enjoying the late summer sun, playing, and sharing pizza.

On a Sunday afternoon this pop up was perfect. We finished our frate (friend date, yea that one took us a while) with a gorge stroll along the canal. Families, couples or warehouse residents, Loven pretty much appeals to all.”
