Double Dutch Mixers Review

IMG_0388

On Wednesday the 13th I was invited down to celebrate Double Dutch’s Christmas party and to try some delicious gin cocktails with their new range of premium, low calorie soft drinks. Created by Dutch Twins, Raissa and Joyce de Haas in 2014 whilst they were attending University in London. What’s even more impressive is that Richard Branson awarded Double Dutch the Foodpreneur Winner as Britain’s most innovative F&B retail brand in 2015. For a brand that is only two years old, they’re definitely going places. Meeting the twins behind Double Dutch was an absolute pleasure and I can’t thank them enough for inviting me along to their company’s Christmas party.

But on the products! I’d previously tried the Pomegranate & Basil Tonic Water with Gordon’s Gin and absolutely loved the unusual taste. It was extremely pleasant, refreshing and didn’t have that artificial aftertaste that some mixers have. This isn’t surprising as Double Dutch mixers are made with 100% natural ingredients and contains no artificial flavouring, colouring or preservatives. Plus at only 66 Kcal per bottle. With Christmas and New Year’s Eve Celebrations on the near horizon, every little calorie saving helps.

Other flavours in Double Dutch’s range include Indian Tonic Water, Cucumber & Watermelon, Skinny Tonic Water and Cranberry Tonic.

It was great to try a few different gin and tonics on the night to test out the different flavours, though unfortunately I couldn’t stay to try them all. Thankfully, the Double Dutch Cranberry Tonic with Copperhead Black Batch Gin and the Martin Millers Gin with Double Dutch Skinny Tonic Water were recommended to me. Both drinks were absolutely divine. I think my favourite was the Double Dutch Cranberry Tonic, it had a lovely sweet taste that allowed both the flavour of the Gin and the flavour of the Tonic Water to complement each other, rather than being over powering.

Double Dutch Mixers are available in 200ml bottles for £1.25 – £2.50 and a 4-pack £3.50. They are available in a various London Bars, Shops, Online and internationally. These mixers are bound to change the way you drink cocktails, so for more information visit www.doubledutchdrinks.com. You’ll also find a list of delicious cocktail recipes that I’m dying to try out.
