Byron B-Rex Review

Byron is bringing back its much-loved B-Rex burger collection featuring the iconic B-Rex (beef) and C-Rex (chicken) burgers and this year, a new vegetarian addition: the V-Rex.

We’re pleased to announce that to celebrate, Byron will be hosting a series of events and guest experiences including Jurassic Park themed movie nights on the last Thursday of March, April and May in selected Byron restaurants nationwide.

Tickets will be available to buy online. Though it’s the nationwide ‘Roar Hide & Seek’ campaign with over 1,500 free B-Rex burgers up for grabs across its restaurants, that we’re most excited about.

So what is a Byronsauraus Rex or ‘B-Rex’? Well it’s the ultimate BBQ burger – beef patty topped with an onion ring, bacon, American Cheese, jalapeños, pickles, onion, BBQ sauce and a little mayonnaise. First launched in 2014, the B-Rex Burger was one of Byron’s most celebrated burger specials. And diners wanted it back on the menu! So Byron made it happen.

We ventured to the Byron in Finchley Road to sample these iconic burgers and it was a really enjoyable evening.

We were greeted by friendly staff who happily provided us with Long Flint Drinks. (Delightful pre-mixed drinks, that OnIn.London has had the pleasure of trying before).

Our lovely hostess recommended we take our time enjoying these drinks and start with her favourite starter… the new Brisket Dip ‘n’ Tip Nachos. OMG! These were amazing, each layer of the dip was a revaluation. The flavours individually were delicious but together they were mind blowing!

After we finished this amazing starter, we happily waited for our B-Rex burgers and sides. Our hostess recommended we have a bottle of Malbec with our burgers and boy were we happy with her suggestion. We felt very classy, sipping red wine and enjoying our juicy and flavoursome burgers. Though it may have been wrong of me I removed my Onion ring and replaced it with a big spoonful of Mac&Cheese. Probably sacrilege if Byron were to be asked but so worth it!

Thoroughly stuffed, we skipped dessert but next time we’ll be back to try the Oreo FreakShake! It sounds amazing and who doesn’t love milkshakes, cheesecake and Oreos!

As mentioned about this February half-term (Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th February), Byron is launching its nationwide ‘Roar Hide & Seek’ campaign that is giving lucky customers the opportunity to win one of over 1,500 free B-Rex burgers (includes B-Rex, C-Rex or V-Rex). Each Byron restaurant will be hiding 30 T-Rex dinosaur figurines near their restaurants for customers to find. Each dinosaur will have a tag attached to its neck entitling the recipient to redeem a free burger.

The B-Rex burger collection is available in restaurants nationwide with prices starting from £12.50. There’s also an awesome kids menu, so there’s no excuse not to take the kids to Byron.
