Bounce Review

Do you remember when Boris Johnson accepted the Olympic flag on behalf of London at the end of the Beijing Olympics and said;
“Ping-pong was invented on the dining tables of England in the 19th century, and it was called wiff-waff.
“And there, I think, you have the difference between us and the rest of the world.  Other nations looked at a dining table and saw an opportunity to have dinner…
… we looked at it and saw an opportunity to play wiff-waff.”
Well that was no fake news!
Bounce, that vibrant underground bar with a twist, where you can be seen holding a Ping Pong bat in one hand and a cocktail in the other, introduced me to their Games Gurus this week for an evening of raucous fun. A Games Guru is basically a Ping Pong Jedi but who comes with tons of personality and are skilled at thinking outside of the typical, (more serious) table tennis table. I don’t believe I played an average game of Ping Pong at Bounce with the Games Gurus. I did however have Boris Johnson fire balls out of his mouth at me! I also played Basket Pong and Tornado of Doom on the actual Olympic Ping Pong table, yep! Did I win? Let’s move on…
I’m a middle child and so of course, I’m highly competitive, when I’m playing softball or tennis I find it painfully boring waiting on the side lines waiting for my turn to play, I’ve been known to unstitch a softball glove when bored! And so what’s good about each Games Guru is that they’re experts in keeping you constantly entertained and engaged in every game they’ve got organised especially for you and your team.
This was a VIP event, and so I was fortunate to meet the teams behind Bounce and their delightful Gurus. Whilst making my way around the venue I began to learn that each Guru had spent hours in Lockdown perfecting their Ping Pong skills and coming up with new game ideas, I was intrigued to hear that these Gurus had left previous jobs in the entertainment industry, where they had a background in acting, presenting or even tour guiding. They have this natural ability to welcome all around a Ping Pong table, even if you’re no Forest Gump, their job is to make sure you’re not standing still and at least give it your best shot.

Whether you are planning to host a networking event, company parties, birthday, hen or stag do, you’ll be given an endless supply of games and plenty of organised fun to make sure your night out is an enjoyable one.
Stuey Hull, Entertainment Manager at Bounce said ‘’We are so excited to be bringing back our much-loved Games Gurus. The Gurus have always been a huge hit with guests, and they really do separate us from any other entertainment venues. On top of our excellent service, food, drink and epic games offering at Bounce, the Games Gurus add that extra special and unique touch. Whether our guests are with their colleagues or friends, our Gurus will ensure they will have a truly memorable experience.”
All you need to do is grab some mates and a cocktail and leave it to the Game Gurus. While many people can be experts… you will only find Games Gurus at Bounce.
To book, please call the reservations team to discuss adding a Games Guru to your booking on 020 3657 6525 or email them at bookings@bouncepingpong.com.
