Thai Square Review

I was long overdue a catch up with a very good friend of mine and we were invited to Thai Square on The Strand for a casual midweek dinner and a good chit chat.

My friend is vegetarian, and I was really impressed at their vegetarian menu – for both starters and main dishes.

We decided to share the Mixed Vegetarian Starters, which included Vegetable Spring Rolls; Corn Cakes; Vegetable Tempura; and Vegetable and Tofu Satay. My favourites were the corn cakes, and the satay sauce was full of flavour, with a hint of spice.

I’m a real sucker for a Thai Green Curry, so despite the big selection on the main menu, that made my decision easy! I had mine with chicken and steamed rice and asked for the sauce to be slightly less hot than usual – just in case! My friend had the Pad Thai with tofu, which was a really generous portion and I was told it was very tasty. We also shared a side of Mixed Vegetables with garlic and Soya, including oriental cabbage, shimeji mushroom, carrots, broccoli, babycorn and sugar snap peas, broccoli with shiitake mushrooms

Thai Square has a number of restaurants in and around London, and they are ideal for a weeknight meal and a good catch up.

Over the festive season, Thai Square offers both a three or four course set menu, and the Trafalgar Square branch is open on Christmas Day itself.

On New Year’s Eve, diners ordering the New Year’s Eve Set and Tasting menus can also enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly with the festive set menu – cheers!
