Sunday Lunch at The Broadcaster, White City: A Perfect Blend of Food, Atmosphere and Sunshine

The Broadcaster is fast becoming one of West London’s most talked-about venues — and after our recent Sunday lunch there, it’s easy to see why. Combining exceptional food, a vibrant atmosphere, and a stunning rooftop that feels tailor-made for all seasons, it offers an experience that goes far beyond your average pub lunch.

One of The Broadcaster’s standout features is undoubtedly its all-weather rooftop. Cleverly designed to be as welcoming in the depths of winter as it is in the height of summer, the rooftop boasts covered areas, heaters, and comfy seating, creating an inviting space whatever the weather. On sunny days, it becomes a true sun trap — the perfect setting for a leisurely afternoon with friends, complete with a chilled glass of rosé or a craft beer in hand. The views over White City and the BBC Campus only add to the magic, giving it a fresh and urban feel that’s hard to resist.

Our Sunday lunch started with a dish that set the tone for the rest of the meal: a beautifully presented celeriac plate accompanied by freshly baked focaccia and the most luxurious truffle butter. It was earthy, rich, and utterly moreish — the kind of starter you’re reluctant to share. Following this, I opted for the roast beef, which was nothing short of sensational. Perfectly cooked to a tender, pink finish, it came with all the trimmings: crisp roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, and a deeply flavoured gravy that tied it all together beautifully. My friend chose the classic fish and chips, which arrived in a generous portion and was immaculately presented. The batter was light and crisp, encasing flaky fish, served alongside golden chips and a tangy tartare sauce — a reminder of why this dish remains a British favourite.

As the afternoon wore on and the temperature climbed, we couldn’t resist cooling down with a selection of fresh ice creams for dessert. Refreshing and full of natural flavour, they were the ideal way to round off such a hearty meal in the summer heat.

The Broadcaster isn’t just about the rooftop and the food, though. The venue itself spans multiple floors, offering an impressive amount of space that’s ideal for private parties, family gatherings, or just a relaxed catch-up with friends. Each floor has its own character, from the casual buzz of the ground floor bar to the more intimate dining spaces above, making it a versatile spot for almost any occasion.

In short, The Broadcaster delivers on all fronts. Whether you’re after a laid-back rooftop lunch, a lively private celebration, or simply some of the best roast beef you’ll find in London, it’s well worth a visit. We left already planning our next return, knowing that whatever the weather, The Broadcaster will be ready to welcome us back in style.
