Alyn Williams At The Westbury And Nytimber Michelin-Starred Supperclub

Tuesday night, ONIN.London got to experience the amazing collaboration between the award-winning restaurant Alyn Williams at The Westbury and renowned English winemakers, Nyetimber. The  entire evening in the one Michelin Star and four AA Rosettes winning restaurant was an experience that I will never forget.

The Alyn Williams at The Westbury is a stunning venue with attentive waiters providing top notch service. We dined in one of the two exclusive private dining rooms, though guests will also be able to dine in the Wine Salon on the 24th of July 2018 when the official supper club takes place. Here, you will be surrounded by 600 of the world’s finest wines including a 1937 bottle of Château Climens, 1er Cru, Barsac. It is simply a beautiful room.

After a canape and sparkling wine reception we were taken into the dining room. Here the attention to detail was impeccable. Our names were printed on our menus and the table setting was divine. It was a nice experience meeting other guests and seeing the looks of delight while we waited for our meal.

The five-course menu was designed by Alyn Williams especially for the supper club and was made using the finest British seasonal ingredients. We were able to meet Alyn Williams himself as he talked us through his inspiration for the menu. I won’t go into details about the menu, as they want the food to be a surprise. I can say though that each of the five courses were even better that the last and ended in the signature dish that Alyn Williams at The Westbury is known for. Seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had the pleasure of consuming and I can’t recommend it enough.

The dishes were expertly paired with the finest sparkling wine from Nyetimber, England’s first premier sparkling wine house. Brand Ambassador, Stephan was a wealth of information about Nyetimber wine. The night did showcase that Nyetimber’s single aim for the last 25 years which is to make the finest English sparkling wine, has been achieved. The wines consisted of a 2009 Classic Cuvee, a 2010 and a 1998 Blanc de Blancs, a Demi-Sec, a MV Nyetimber Rosé and a rare cuvée. These  wines must be tasted to be believed and this is a rare opportunity to sample wines that you won’t find outside of Nyetimber’s vaults. They were absolutely delicious and really do highlight that English wines have a place in the world.

Overall, an unforgettable evening and one that we recommend booking fast as places are limited. Tickets for the supper club on the 24th of July 2017 are priced at £144pp, which includes a five-course menu complete with sparkling wines from Nyetimber and can be booked online at www.alynwilliams.com/events.
