Apple Butter review

Seven Dials has a plethora of cafes and restaurants to dine in, you are spoilt for choice in a great part of London. Apple Butter, a Middle-Eastern cafe located on Monmouth street, is a showstopper. The food isn’t only delicious, it’s bright, bold and beautifully presented.

Upon entry you are immediately greeted with a floor to ceiling apple tree and an abundance of foliage creating a calm oasis in the chaos of central London, it feels welcoming and cosy.

We went to Apple Butter to try out their breakfast menu. The hot drinks menu was the first thing to make our eyes pop and was something to behold. Amongst the traditional tea and coffee was an impressive list of colourful lattes. I’m talking matcha, turmeric, beet, charcoal and even red velvet! I mean who knew such a drink existed?

Breakfast was a toss up between the Raspberry Smoothie Bowl and the Eggs Florentine, what is one to do when you can’t decide….try both? Go on then. The Eggs Florentine, is like no other Eggs Florentine I’ve tasted previously. Firstly you won’t see any sourdough bread in sight, instead your food is nestled in a croissant, which transformed the hard crunch of bread to a more crisp bite. The poached eggs were perfectly light, fluffy and runny and the beetroot hollandaise gave extra cream and sweetness with a sumptuous and indulgent purple hue.

The raspberry smoothie bowl looks like a piece of art, so much so you can’t help but marvel at it. Diving in, my taste buds did a little boogie! Creamy and sweet this smoothie bowl is a real treat. The granola, seeds and fresh berries, provided extra sweetness and a nice welcomed crunch and at only £8.50 it’s an absolute steal!

Did I also mention how beautifully presented these dishes are… upload your pics on instagram and be the envy of all your friends. The dishes are crying out to be photographed, in fact you’ll be crying with regret if you didn’t take a photo.

If you are dining in for lunch, you can find sandwiches, pasta and fresh salads. There is also outdoor seating, so if you want to dine with a friend from another household, these guys have you covered! Once you’re finished dining, walk around Seven Dials, go shopping, people watch and soak in the atmosphere!
