Avenue’s Bottomless Brunch Review

We’ve reviewed Avenue’s dinner service before (www.onin.london/avenue-review), however, now it’s time to check out their bottomless brunch. As before, we received the most impeccable service and it was obvious from watching the other tables (all full) that this is the standard.

The Bottomless Brunch is certainly popular and with three courses costing only £28.50 and an extra £18.00 for bottomless bubbles or Bloody Mary’s… it’s not hard to see why.

I couldn’t resist the allure of Pancakes with Berry Compote & Sour Cream for my starter and I wasn’t disappointed. The small fluffy pancakes with sweet berry compote was like little morsels of heaven in my mouth. The added tartness from the sour cream, only enhanced the flavour and combated the sweetness perfectly. My guest chose the Waffles with Bacon & Maple Syrup. Bacon cooked to crispy perfection and sweet maple syrup, shouldn’t be a combo that works but it did.

For our mains, my guest chose the healthier option of the Fried Eggs, Fried Rice Balls, Asian Slaw with Hoisin Confit Duck. This dish was described to me as the perfect portion size and extremely tasty. The duck was succulent and the flavours exploded with each mouthful. Myself though, I went all out and ordered the Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Lobster. There is a £5.00 supplement for this one but it’s so worth it. If you’re a Mac ‘n’ Cheese lover, you’ll love this dish for sure.

Our final course, we both had to chose the Dark Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream. I’m not going to lie though, I did get food envy when I saw someone on another table order the cheesecake. The Brownie though didn’t last long on our plates and the chocolate ganache topping was an added bonus we weren’t expecting.

Throughout our two hour sitting, our prosecco certainly flowed and it was nice that we weren’t rushed off our table as soon as we finished eating. We were allowed to move on to the bar with our left over prosecco to further enjoy the ambience and people watch.

The Avenue’s Brunch is one not to miss and we’re adding it to our must do brunches of 2018! You won’t regret visiting. Great food, great service and free flowing prosecco… what more could you want?
