Brook Green Hotel Review

Brook Green - dining room1

On a rainy Saturday afternoon, we headed down to a gorgeous Brook Green Hotel in Hammersmith. It was a short stroll from Hammersmith Station and despite the rain, it was a lovely walk. Our first view of the hotel was definitely a pleasant one as the building is simply striking. The inside of the Brook Green Hotel is just as pleasant to the eye which made my cousin and I even more excited about eating our lunch here. After being seated by our lovely waitress and the manager, White Rabbit Reisling was suggested as the wine to drink with our food. Being a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, I would have chosen the wine just for the name but it was the right suggestion to make. The wine was delicate, sweet and way too easy to drink.

For starters we went with the manager’s suggestion of the Grilled halloumi salad with quinoa, roasted fennel, honey parsnip, cos, golden beetroot, pomegranate and tomato salsa and Smoked mackerel salad, crispy bacon, boiled egg, heritage tomatoes, rainbow carrot, potato and buttermilk dressing. Salads don’t have to be boring and these salads absolutely weren’t. They were so tasty and not the typical plain salads that you usually find on menus.IMG_7752

After finishing our salads, which I don’t believe lasted long on our plates we were looking forward to our mains. My cousin chose the Lamb Shank Shepherd’s Pie with Homemade mint sauce, spring greens and carrots. I went a bit crazy and had the Aged Sirloin Steak with Wild garlic butter, sweet potato fries, watercress and Burt’s blue cheese. The Lamb Shank Shepherd’s Pie was a major hit with my cousin and the Steak for me was absolutely perfect. Now I’m often told I’m not allowed to order steak at restaurants because I don’t like to hear my cow say moo when I eat it but I threw caution to the wind and ordered it Medium Well. It was cooked to perfection. The blue cheese and garlic butter made the steak taste amazing. It was a very juicy and tender steak!

After a marvellous main course, we both chose the raspberry and cream cheesecake for dessert. So creamy, it was a flawless finish to our mealIMG_7756.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at the Brook Green Hotel. Prices were extremely reasonable for high quality food and friendly service. Make sure you head down to the Brook Green Hotel in Hammersmith if you’re after good food, good wine and exceptionally friendly staff. You won’t regret it.
