Chino Latino Review

The award winning Asian fusion restaurant Chino Latino, overlooking the Thames had a special asparagus themed menu, the menu promised to be full of flavour and unique and it sure did surpass all expectations. The restaurant is beautifully laid out with a huge window at the end for everyone to enjoy the view of the river Thames and Parliament. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the welcoming staff.

The special asparagus menu featured a four course meal which kicked off with Asparagus & Edamame Soup, topped with Wasabi foam and parmesan, the soup was uniquely presented over a clay pot with hot coals keeping the soup warm.

The second course started with an asparagus tempura maki roll which tasted like high quality sushi, this came with seven rolls for £8, which is more than worth it in my opinion. It also came with crispy asparagus wrapped in a katafi pastry with fresh black truffles and wafu dressing which was the perfect light and tasty side dish.

The main course consisted of sea brim wrapped in asparagus with a side of jasmine rice as well as grilled asparagus. The sea brim was full of flavor and was perfectly paired with the asparagus, I didn’t want the meal to end.

For the dessert of course, the main ingredient was still present and consisted of raspberry coconut cake with a delicious and very original asparagus ice cream topped with asparagus shavings and a chocolate crunch. On top of the delicious meal it was paired with a bottle of white wine, recommended by the waiter.

Although I only tried the set asparagus menu, looking around at the tables around me and seeing the sushi, fish and tempura dishes they were eating made me want to keep ordering food even though I was very full. On top of the delicious dishes the ambiance was what made the experience even better, the singer serenaded the room with old school tunes and made those celebrating birthdays feel very special.

Overall I loved the food and the atmosphere, Chino Latino was everything that a restaurant should be and I haven’t stopped recommending it to friends and family.
