Discover London and celebrate Christmas with special seasonal editions of HiddenCity’s treasure hunt experiences, guThis winter, HiddenCity will be adding Christmas magic to all their games. Between 1st December 2024 and 3rd January 2025, seasonal editions of each of the four adventures will immerse players in festive London. 

In teams of 2 or more players, solve a trail of clues sent to your phone, as you journey across the city. Interact with characters and the physical world around you, and pause for food and drinks at built-in break points. Every game is set in the world of a well-known story: from espionage to fairytales, there is something for all interests and ages, perfect for getting a group together to celebrate the season. Children under 10 go free.

Will you work with MI6 to save Bond in time for Christmas, or tackle poisonous mistletoe in Moriarty’s Game? Each adventure offers you choices, and your actions have consequences. Whether you help the Seven Dwarves defeat the Evil Queen or trace the Cheshire Cat’s tracks through the windows of Central London’s shopping wonderland, you’ll see the sights and lights of winter London.

Creatively curated to highlight the sights, smells, and sounds of the capital at Christmas, players will discover shop displays and street decorations as they are guided to selected venues to enjoy warming drinks and seasonal food. From Christmas Markets and traditional pubs to classic cafes – there are cosy stops along the way. HiddenCity has adapted each game with new Christmas clues and limited-edition versions of each route to guide you to seasonal highlights.

The Christmas editions

Play any of the four HiddenCity games between 1 December 2025 and 3 January 2025 inclusive, to take part in a Christmas experience:

• Characters in the story will guide you to pubs and cafes offering winter warmers to keep you toasty on your journey (alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available).

Here’s what you get in each game:

007: Shadow of Spectre

Follow a trail of clues left by the world’s favourite spy to uncover a Spectre conspiracy – will you work with Moneypenny to revive Bond or turn double agent? This officially licensed 007 experience starts amongst the bustling winter markets of the Southbank, taking in a Bond filming location in all its festive glory. Treat yourself to winter warmers (alcoholic and non-alcoholic hot drinks) at break points in your journey.

Moriarty’s Game: The Professor’s Invitation

Take on the challenge of criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty: beginning amongst the boutique emporia of an iconic London High Street, you’ll use all your senses to navigate beneath the Christmas lights of Sherlock’s stomping ground. Those who display loyalty may be invited to try a winter twist on the Professor’s preferred cocktail – available to purchase on the game route, if you dare…

The Hunt for the Cheshire Cat

Taking Lewis Carroll’s much-loved Alice in Wonderland as its inspiration, this adventure starts at one of London’s historic hidey-holes, decked out for Christmas. Expect things to get curiouser and curiouser as you trace the Cheshire Cat’s pawprints through cheerful Christmas markets. There will be opportunities to indulge in festive baked goods and winter warmers, available to purchase along the game route.

The Enchanted Mirror

Be the heroes of your very own fairytale! This quest commences from Kensington’s stylish, seasonal shopping haven where players are call on help the Seven Dwarves defeat the Evil Queen, finding fairytale palaces and cobbled mews decorated for Christmas along the way. Warming your hands and spirits with a Heigh ho-ho-ho and mulled wine or non alcoholic alternative available to purchase on the game route. 

Each experience takes around three hours, covering over two miles. Team up with friends, family, or colleagues. Book as a date to surprise your favourite person, or play as a bigger group in multiple teams, racing head-to-head for the fastest time against the clock. All successful teams receive a reward for completing their mission, plus a place on the leaderboard. It’s also dog-friendly, so bring your pooch along to sniff out the clues.
