Einstein Eats Eggs Review

Recently I attended a friend’s Christmas Party and learnt all about British board and card game publisher Clarendon Games.Clarendon is an independent board and card game publisher founded by Will Sorrell in 2012. After giving up his full-time job and investing his life’s savings to start his company, Will understood that board games bring people togetherand make them laugh.

I was intrigued by their game Einstein Eats Eggs, which is a brand-new high-speed alliterative guessing game. The game draws upon charades, where players aged 10-and-up are pitted against one another to see how many alliterative phrases they can guess per 90-second round. Imagine trying to explain “Peter Pan picked a pineapple” or one of the other 1,199 phrases, without using any of the alliterative words.

Clarendon Games, sent me a copy of Einstein Eats Eggs so I could conduct a full review. The game comes in a small, neatly packaged box which makes it easily transportable. Perfect for me when I was aiming to take the game to the family Christmas dinner.

The game is designed to be quick paced and only take half an hour to play. As we only had two teams of two, the game does take a lot longer. It’s no wonder Clarendon recommends two teams of four are better than four teams of two. I was also playing with non-board loving players (shock horror – some people don’t like board games? Say it isn’t so). Luckily Einstein Eats Eggs is a lot of fun and my friends got right into the competition. Lots of laughter ensured as they tried to get their partner to guess the alliteration.

In looking at Clarendon’s other games, they have also recently released Imposter! A lively after-dinner game in which players use debate, bluff and logic to win points. Imposter! And Einstein Eats Eggs are the latest in Clarendon’s portfolio of 10 beautifully designed products. Clarendon has sold over 250,000 copies worldwide and the games are stocked in major retailers including John Lewis, Debenhams, Foyles, Fortnum and Mason and Waterstones in the UK, and through distribution partners in the USA, Canada, Australia. So what are you waiting for! Go purchase Einstein Eats Eggs and/or any of the other games that take your fancy.

For more fun, in November Clarendon Games and Rosewood London launched the ‘Rosewood Room Hunt’, a unique weekend package, which offers guests the chance to upgrade their stay to an incredible one-of-a-kind signature suite filled with bespoke experiences, after completing a series of experiential challenges. The Rosewood Room Hunt will see up to 10 pairs of guests compete against others to solve riddles and puzzles across the hotel. This treasure-hunt style game was designed by Clarendon Games founder Will Sorrell based on his expert knowledge of the board game industry.
