Erev Review

I’m a big fan of Mediterranean food so when we were invited to try Erev in Notting Hill, I was really looking forward to it.

On a rainy Wednesday evening, I was really pleasantly surprised to see how busy the restaurant was and how nice the vibe was when we arrived. The general manager came to greet us and show us to our table, where we started by ordering a mocktail each – both of which were fruity and refreshing.

We were a bit spoiled for choice with the food menu, as everything sounded really tempting. It’s split into Earth, Land and Sea, so we decided to try something from each section. To start, we opted for some nibbles: houmous, creamy feta dip and a tomato kick with a little bit of a kick to it, all accompanied with the fluffiest pitta breads. We also ordered the Yellowtail Tuna Crudo, which was really light and worked well alongside the dips.

I could’ve happily just stopped there, then our mains came out; and I wasn’t disappointed. We decided to share the Confit Duck Leg with wild rice and the Pan Fried Seabass – both of which I’d order again. Both were full of flavour and weren’t too heavy after our starters. My favourite dish of the night had to be the Burning Potato crusted in parmesan. Essentially it is a blend between a baked potato and mashed potato but omg, it was delicious. It was so smooth and creamy, and subtly cheesy and I would eat it every day if I could!

Overall we had a really great evening at Erev – really tasty Mediterranean food with a really nice vibe: a good addition to Notting Hill’s ever-growing food scene.
