Fairly new to the UK, but gaining in popularity at a rapid rate, a Headspa is a specialised treatment that focuses on the scalp, hair, and overall relaxation. It typically involves a series of steps including a scalp massage, cleansing, exfoliation, and deep conditioning treatments. The goal is to improve scalp health, promote hair growth, relieve stress, and enhance overall wellbeing.
Headspas often use a variety of techniques and products, such as essential oils and specialised tools, to stimulate blood circulation and provide a soothing experience. The treatment kicks off with an in-depth scalp analysis and consultation. You are handed an iPad and the friendly and knowledgeable expert uses a camera to give you visibility of your scalp. Once analysed, and the best treatment and products decided on, you lie down on the bed with your head inside the ergonomic basin, listening to the most relaxing of music. The treatment starts with a stunning aromatherapy session and face massage, detoxing the skin.
The face and chest are then exfoliated whilst your hair is thoroughly washed and treated. Exfoliation is not just for the face either as the scalp is massaged and cleansed of any dead skin, grease or oil particles.
The highlight of the treatment is a seriously indulgent scalp massage and hair bath. A symphonic blend of relaxation and cleansing, the experts tenderly massage the scalp with tools, stimulating circulation, while the luxurious hair bath cleanses and conditions. Products are 100% natural and designed by a brand called O Way.
A hair and face treatment and mask are applied to ensure that your skin and scalp are well nourished. Whilst the masks are on, you are treated to a full back, neck and shoulder massage, which is enough to send you off into a relaxed slumber.
To finish, your hair is expertly blow dried, and a light moisturiser added to your skin. You then have another look at the scalp. I was blown away by the difference. Gone was any build up of skin and my hair was soft and shiny. Best of all, any tension in my back and shoulders had completely disappeared – I was truly relaxed.
Priced at £125.00, this is hands down one of the most relaxing spa treatments I’ve ever had in London, and a must for anyone dealing with any scalp issues – or those looking simply to unwind.
