Field&Flower BBQ Box Review

With travel still a distant dream for some, it’s exciting that companies are promoting staycations to bring a bit of normalcy to our lives. So we were loved when Online butcher field&flower’s announced a new range of deli products and BBQ’d meat and fish to help improve your summer as spend time with friends and family at home. I’ve always been interested in food delivery services such as field&flower, yet never have the time to explore the best options which would work for my housemate and I. So of course, I was grateful that field&flower got in contact with ONIN.London and asked us if we’d like to review their products. It was perfect time as I headed away for a weekend away with friends who have been in my safe little isolated bubble.

You can either make up your own box or order from a range of pre-selected boxes including various BBQ boxes: Chef’s BBQ Box, Summer Essentials BBQ Box and Just Steaks BBQ Box OR for those picnic lovers out there, there is a Summer Picnic BBQ Box which is filled with proper thick-cut ham, artisan scotch eggs, British charcuterie, cheese, pickle and Piccalilli.

We chose to receive the Summer essentials bbq box which serves 2-3 people (22 servings. The box includes 6x Premium Pork, Sage & Black Pepper Sausages 6x Premium Pork & Fennel Sausages 4x field&flower Burgers 4x Beef & Chorizo Burgers 3x Herb & Salted Chicken Thighs, Boneless 8x Chicken Drumsticks and  1x Bottle of Sticky Barbecue Sauce (230ml). All for £36.16 which is £1.32 per serving, though it is currently 20% off so only 20% OFF £28.95.

It would easily feed my 2 person house hold for nearly two weeks and priced at £28.95 is a perfect bargain! It has definitely cemented the fact that we really need to start shopping at butchers for top quality meat.

What also impressed us is that field&flower use DPD delivery which provide you with tracking information and a set time frame for when your food will be delivered. The food arrived exactly when it said it would and was packed with 6 icepacks to keep the meat cold and fresh.

When it came to cooking, there is definitely something that should be said about top quality meat. The better quality the food, the better it will taste. My group and I definitely found that cooking our first summer bbq of the season. While we unfortunately had to have it indoors… given the rain you could tell the difference between the meat supplied by Field&Flower and the extra we bought at the supermarkets. The burgers especially were our favourite in the box and went down a treat! Even the BBQ sauce was amazing and it was difficult to not want to drink it straight from the bottle… I can’t wait to add it to all my meals.
