At a time when the world is faced with one its biggest crises it has seen in a generation, one entrepreneur has been focused on innovating education and the well-being of children. Gavin Mair, former Goldman Sachs trader and founder of award-winning Numberfit, has revolutionised the way in which teaching is accessed outside of the classroom.
Entrepreneur and leader of social enterprise business, Numberfit has extended his company’s mission by launching FREE online classes via Instagram Live. With the announcement of school closures last week, Numberfit will now offer up to three lessons a day via Instagram Live which will cover the from preschool up to A-Level. This providing a solution for parents whilst they try to keep their kids mentally and physically active during school closures. The entrepreneur is also looking for other independent educators in English and Science to join him, as he connects students outside of the classroom.
Gavin Mair, Founder and Head Numberfit Coach commented; ‘’When I started developing the business after leaving banking, I was looking at changes coming in the world from the pressures on teachers through to the rise of digital. I was fortunate to have an excellent education, but that isn’t consistent in the UK. Numberfit allows additional learning at home and online. With obesity on the rise, connecting movement and maths is vital for change.
With the spread of COVID-19 and schools across the country now closed for the foreseeable future, the challenge is to keep children mentally and physically active whilst at home, we saw this as an opportunity to push our mission further and use social media for something positive’’.
