Frock Me

In the heart of Chelsea is the beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall and on this first properly sunny Sunday of summer it played host to the Frock Me! Vintage Fair. The beautiful Baroque interior was filled in every nook and cranny with vintage clothing, all of it in perfect condition and all crying out to be added to someone’s wardrobe or collection, only to be worn on the most special of occasions.

Frock Me

Every piece seemed to be a real classic. From vintage Gucci leather bags to Yves Saint Laurent jackets and on through dresses, suits, fur coats (totally inappropriate for the weather, but beautiful nonetheless) and even an endless number of vintage sunglasses. It was all priceless and perfectly presented.

Everywhere you turned there were clothes, bags, shoes, accessories and even a fine collection of vintage straw boaters (to go with your Varsity blazer). Everyone from the browsers to the vendors was done out in wonderful style and the made the whole event even more delightful. The sunlight pouring in through the windows and glinting off the wood panelling seemed to flatter every item of clothing on display and made it very hard to resist!

This roving fair is run by the Blackbird Tea Rooms of Brighton and brings together a wide range of collectors and purveyors from all over the UK and France. It really is the jewel on the vintage circuit and I am reliably informed draws celebrities, fashion buyers and collectors from all over the place.

Half way through their dates for the year, the fair will next be back on the 13th July at the Old Town Hall. Details can be found here, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
