Galvin Bistrot & Bar Unveils Château Sainte-Marguerite Summer Terrace in Spitalfields 

Galvin Bistrot & Bar is bringing a slice of the South of France to East London this summer with the launch of its Château Sainte-Marguerite Summer Terrace.  

Launching on May 8th and running throughout the summer, the space is designed as a relaxed outdoor escape just moments from Spitalfields Market, the terrace pairs Provençal rosé with Mediterranean-inspired dishes in a setting made for long, easy-going afternoons and warm, balmy evenings. 

In collaboration with Château Sainte-Marguerite Cru Classé de Provence, the terrace puts rosé at the centre of the experience. Guests can enjoy expressions such as Symphonie and Fantastique, available by the glass, carafe or bottle, alongside a refreshing Rosé Spritz made with Mancino Vermouth and rhubarb and raspberry tonic. 

To complement the drinks, the terrace menu focuses on simple, flavour-led plates designed for sharing. Highlights include house-marinated Gordal olives, Chorizo croquettes with aioli, and Brie on toast with truffle honey, as well as a selection of premium cured meats such as Ibérico de Bellota and aged Parma ham. Guests can also opt for larger bites like Pizzetta marinara, with classic desserts such as Tiramisu rounding things off. 

The terrace offering sits alongside the restaurant’s broader A La Carte Mediterranean menu, led by Head Chef, Fabio Portaluri, and overseen by Chef Director Arturo Granato, whose cooking is rooted in his Italian heritage. Their approach centres on bold, honest flavours and seasonal ingredients, with dishes that move effortlessly from small plates and handmade pastas to more generous mains. A regularly changing menu keeps the offering accessible while showcasing the kitchen’s focus on quality and seasonality. 

With its easy-going atmosphere, sun trap location, and a bar programme built around vermouth and low-intervention producers, Galvin Bistrot & Bar continues to balance quality with approachability.
