Dining and a Great Night’s Sleep at Hart Hotel Shoreditch

There’s something about Shoreditch that I love – the constant movement, the late-night restaurants, the mix of creative chaos and polished East London cool – and tucked quietly amongst it all is Hart Shoreditch Hotel London, Curio Collection by Hilton, a hotel that manages to feel both stylish and genuinely relaxing from the moment you walk through the doors.

While Shoreditch hotels often lean heavily into trend-driven design, Hart strikes a much more sophisticated balance. Interiors are warm and contemporary without feeling cold or overly minimal, with rich textures, soft lighting and thoughtful details throughout the property. It feels elevated but still welcoming, exactly what you want after a busy day in the city.

The rooms themselves were beautifully done. Spacious by London standards, with incredibly comfortable beds, calming neutral tones and the sort of understated luxury that makes it very easy to settle in for the night. One of the standout elements of the hotel, however, is undoubtedly UBA – the hotel’s Japanese-inspired restaurant and one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had in Shoreditch recently.

The space itself is sleek and atmospheric, balancing modern Japanese influences with the hotel’s polished aesthetic. The menu leans into sharing plates and bold flavours, making it ideal for a long, relaxed dinner.

We started with the edamame topped with yuzu sesame and smoked salt – simple but incredibly moreish, with the citrus cutting through beautifully. The rock shrimp tempura arrived golden and perfectly crisp, coated in seaweed furikake and paired with a punchy kimchi mayo that added just the right amount of heat.

The seafood throughout the meal was excellent. A generously sized tuna sushi platter showcased impressively fresh fish, while the bluefin sashimi was delicate, buttery and expertly sliced. The tuna tartare was another standout: vibrant, clean and packed with flavour without overcomplicating the ingredient itself.

One of the surprise highlights of the evening was the Japanese mushroom yaki soba. Rich with umami and layered with onion teriyaki, shisho and edamame. The cocktails are also really great and Asian inspired.

What makes Hart Shoreditch work so well is that it offers far more than just a place to sleep. Between the beautifully designed interiors, genuinely comfortable rooms and a restaurant that could easily stand on its own as a Shoreditch dining destination, the hotel feels thoughtfully curated from start to finish. I had a great night’s sleep and a tasty breakfast, before a fabulous work out in its modern gym. A lovely stay!
