Heads + Tails celebrates its first birthday!
Last year ONIN headed to the launch of the new late night cocktail bar Head + Tails in West Hampstead. Now we’re heading
back to celebrate its first birthday with the launch of the Winter Drinks Menu. The new Winter Drinks Menu draws on winter fruits and autumn flavours. For example, ‘Light Violet’ features the fruity, citrusy tones of Beefeater gin and Dolin Dry Vermouth while the apricot and violet liqueur turn this concoction a pale blue, reminiscent of a crisp winter morning.

In ‘Adrien Pimento’ there’s a fusion of aromatic and fruity Altos Plata tequila and spice-driven Pimento Dram, paired with pineapple shrub and lemon. ‘Like a Verjus’ is a twist on the classic vodka and soda as it’s made with passion fruit Belvedere, verjus and soda. For something with a more mature blend of flavours try ‘Sex, Lies and Videograpes’. This is a brandy based concoction featuring tart-apple notes in 30&40 Double Jus and the sweetness of a maraschino, balanced with malic acid and verjus with a topping prosecco.
For something to keep you warm, try Cranmore. This is a bold short serve of single malt Gelaton’s Irish Whisky, Campari, house winter butters and caramelised macerated chestnuts. Given its name, it is no surprise that Heads + Tails is a bar contrasting in design and creativity. On the street level is Heads where high ceilings, glass windows, natural light, cooling colours and a marble topped bar create an open relaxed feel. Taking its lead from the style of the bar, the drinks menu serves lighter refreshing drinks like cocktails, gins, wines and Aperitivos. When we reviewed the bar last year, the basement section Tails was not yet completed but now it’s a cozy, atmospheric space.
Dark walls, low ceilings, plush seating and warm wooden bar. Warm and bold serves of rum and whiskies are featured here. All drinks can be ordered in either bar.Founders Will Partridge and Chris Dennis are long-term collaborators and industry experts, and have transformed the venue into a stylish, sophisticated late-night drinking space. Both Heads and Tails sections are available for private hire.We at ONIN had a fantastic time at Heads + Tails last year and anticipate another wonderful night next week when we review the Winter Drinks Menu. We’re super excited to explore the finished Tails section as well as to try the new Winter Drinks Menu. I’m intrigued by the ‘Sex, Death and Videograpes’ as well as ‘Light Violet’. I can’t wait to see what other autumn flavours the menu has to offer.
