Hiver Beer

Hiver – the Honey beer brewing company, recently launched the Honey blond beer. A refreshing, light beer with a dry finish, perfect for a late summer day. There is definitely an echo of the honey in there, but as it’s an ingredient rather than an additive flavour, it doesn’t over power the other citrusy, biscuity flavours and aromas.

You may be familiar with The honey IPA, which has that darker, more roasted notes of a brown ale. The honey is also present, resulting in a mild, almost chocolatey sweetness, but still with a hoppey bitterness.

The founder, Hannah sources all of her ingredients from UK suppliers, including natural honey from independent, British beekeepers. She works closely with Bee Urban in Kennington, to get some of the best British honey around.

Hiver have teamed up with Bee Urban to offer their customers an experience to see a working beehive and to learn more about the process of making honey which ends with a Hiver beer tasting session, where you get to sample the Honey blond and the honey ale.

We recommend you buy yourself a bottle (or few) of hiver direct from the website or from waitrose. To really appreciate the history and process of the beer,  you could get the full bee keeping and tasting experience at Bee Urban in kennington park. Hurry, while we still have any warm days left.
