Hungry House’s January Sanctuary

Escape ‘New Year New Me’ nonsense at Hungry House’s January Sanctuary

With new year resolutions, fitness goals and ‘humble’ brags everywhere we look this month, Hungry House has got your back. It is launching the world’s first January Sanctuary in Covent Garden, to make the last two days of the longest month bearable.

Complete with home-from-home comforts and a faux gym, to help cover your tracks. The January Sanctuary is described as “a refuge to escape the tyranny of Instagram feeds and smug friends, where you can unwind without judgement”. The space will be divided into half living room and half faux fitness zone, so visitors can work up a sweat with a curry rather than a cross trainer while convincing friends and family they’re sticking to their overzealous resolutions.

The retreat is bookable via a two-hour, pay-per-chew service which comes complete with a range of believable props to convince social media followers of your virtuous intentions – from a life-size gym backdrop, to non-functioning running machines, green juices, and staff trained in the art of the perfect ‘gram.
The January Sanctuary is open from 2pm-10pm on Monday 29th January and 12pm – 7pm on Tuesday 30th January. Groups of up to four people are able to book in, with a cost of £20 per two-hour slot. But you’ll have to hurry as spaces are limited.
