Ivy Asia Mayfair Review
I had heard nothing but good things about Ivy Asia and while their reputation preceded them, my visit to the restaurant in Mayfair lived up to the hype I’d heard.
From the moment you walk in, the decor is beautiful and the bar area is really inviting. We then walked through a walkway covered in pink cherry blossom which opened up into the restaurant; with more cherry blossom trees and bright coloured flooring.
Their extensive cocktail menu had some twists on classic cocktails, including a Maha Paloma with yuzu and turmeric cocktail and a Lychee Martini, served over candy floss which melted as it was poured.
When it comes to the food menu, everything sounded delicious and whilst we could’ve opted for some of the dishes from the sushi section, we decided to share a selection of small plates and large plates.
We ordered the Barbeque Duck Salad and Gochujang Glazed Chicken, which were a great way to start the meal, followed by Honey & Sesame Chicken and ‘Black Cod’ Miso and sides of Chilli Noodles and Roasted Aubergine with Miso. The flavours were all amazing, and all complimented one another perfectly. Next time I visit, I’ll be tempted to try some of the dishes I missed out on, as I had fomo from the ones I didn’t have space to try!
For dessert, we shared the Sphere (White chocolate dome with yuzu caramel, vanilla ice cream and popping candy) and the Samurai (Dark chocolate mousse served with chocolate brownie ice cream, vanilla ice cream and chocolate pearls). Both were served with a bit of theatre (perfect for Instagrammers!) but also tasted rich and chocolatey. They also have an option to have a small bite of each of the desserts on the menu, which is perfect for indecisive diners like me!
Whilst Ivy Asia was perfect for our mid week dinner and catch up, the restaurant offers diners lots of ways to enjoy their food and cocktails.
